I think this is a risky move.   They should have experimented with Maradona early in CONMEBOl qualifying, not at the tail end.

Obviously, for me, it's more the "Idol" factor, than anything else. I just can't erase Mexico '86 from my mind.
I HOPE he does really well.
Not only was he an extraordinary player, but he had a vision of the field that no one had. Menotti once said "he plays as if he can see the field from the stands". I agree. Hopefully that comes into play in making the team work.
I think this will also REALLY psych the team up. This is their childhood idol, for ALL of them!
Mind you, with the amount of Argentinian star players there are, I'm surprised ANY one with a little common sense can't put a friggin more than decent team together.
Hopefully his ego doesn't get in the way. God knows he doesn't have much common sense in his personal life, but in soccer I think he's just incredible

He had skills, sure - as a PLAYER.  I think, my point is that he has very limited experiencia dirigiendo un club.  He had very brief stints and all of a sudden va a dirigir la seleccion nacional de Argentina!
