This was actually posted in Guada's invitro thread, but just wanted to know your general opinion incase anyone missed it.
Adopting from the Childrens Aid Society is free, but you don't know the outcome of the age/gender/race of the child you get until they finalize things for you.
Knowing this would you do it? Or would you pay the big bucks do a standard adoption or Invitro?

Discuss.

Oh and I know Guada would be cool with it, since it's not a cat she is choosing.
And for me I would also have no problems with it if the wife and I couldn't have kids.

Really?! is this how it works?!
So... you don't ever get to meet the child until they "deliver" it!?
That is so weird

As for my answer.... lemme think

I didn't realize that the Children's Aid offered this service. I'm not well versed on adoption but are other adoption agencies here in Canada the same way or do they have adoption fees for the simple fact that you can choose your child?  I wonder.

Anyway to answer your question JC, I think if hubs and I ever reach a point that we want to expand our family but not biologically (for whatever reason), then yes, I would definitely take advantage of what is offered at the CAS.  If one is able to provide a better if for someone and has the will to do it, then why not?

Thanks JC, you saved me the hassle of repeating myself.

I've always been a believer & hope that one day when it's my time & I can I would try to adopt a child, love the idea.

I like becuase I've seen tons of kids in Ecaudor that can use a home & if I had the opportunity to do it, well welcome it'll be.

However I do wish to pick the child & if it's Not from Ecaudor then I may not be too key on it, my reasons being: I really think it's hard to raise your own natural child with a mix kid. Like ex: oriental, black, etc. See I don't want to have to worry about teaching him about his own culture, etc.

See I want them to be the same. Maybe it's wrong in how I see it, but I think it would be easy for me & my own kids to work better. It's hard enough to teach them now in days to be equal, etc, that I wouldn't want to have to be living with it in my home.
