i would accept CD djing on pioneer CDJ 1000s. i've seen people do some sick stuff on those , they do behave like a turntable..

but the latin clubs probably don't have the equipment, and most importantly, the latin DJs don't generally have the skills to take advantage of it anyway.

Toronto Latin DJ's competitions SUCK ROYALLY!

Nothing comes out of it.....too much favoritism......

I've been to almost all of them.....and I've seen how some DJ's "cheat" and and all the misunderstandings that take place......

I agree with Phanta.......Scratching OK.......CD's....no!

But since maybe ONE out of Allllllllllllllllllllllll the Toronto Latin DJ's might know Vinyl.....ther'e no point!

Try something different....like for example DJ + couple VS DJ + couple......So basically all 3 are competing......I don't know....just an idea....it's like a dance/dj competition hybrid...lol

only if there's actual DJing involved ie: beatmatching and scratching / creating mixing

most of the latin "djs" are not really djs (ohhh, i'm going to get burned for that one). not much point in just listening to a guy cut from one track to the next. can just make a mix cd and play it.
