La FEF canceló el partido amistoso de la Selección ante Colombia.

El pasado martes, en la sesión ordinaria de la FEF, la Asociación de Fútbol No Amateur de Pichincha y la Asociación de Fútbol de Guayas presentaron una solicitud para que los jugadores de los equipos que participarán en la liguilla final no sean convocados para amistosos de la Selección hasta el final del año.

En primera instancia, la respuesta del Vicepresidente Carlos Villacís fue decir que se iba a analizar la solicitud, pero que no le parecía conveniente dejar de convocar a los mejores jugadores del torneo local, ya que la Selección tenía un prestigio ganado que había que cuidar.

Por ello, respondiendo a la solicitud de AFNA y Asoguayas de no tomar en cuenta a convocados que jueguen la liguilla, la FEF ha preferido tomar la decisión de suspender el partido amistoso que se planificaba ante Colombia el 15 de noviembre en la ciudad de Toronto, Canadá.   

En la respuesta oficial de la Federación Ecuatoriana de Fútbol, el Secretario General, Francisco Acosta señala:

El Presidente de la Federación Ecuatoriana de Fútbol, la Comisión de Selecciones y el Cuerpo Técnico de la Selección Nacional, sensibles al pedido realizado por los equipos de AFNA y ASOGUAYAS, aceptan que no se realice el partido amistoso de la Selección en la fecha FIFA del 15 de Noviembre del presente año. Consideramos que con esta resolución la liguilla final del Campeonato Ecuatoriano de Fútbol tendrá el éxito deportivo y económico que todos deseamos.

well  in 1986 we were going to hold it, but the president dropped it at the last minute...I think it will be Brazil.

and im worried about ecuadors top players ..in 4 years alot of them will be retired..

I don't think so.  Aguinaga may need a pacemaker for the next world cup but he will be there.


I guess we don't have that problem there's always a lot of talent, the problem is one they start getting those fat checks.


Do you know that Colombia is one of the candidates for 2014 World Cup?

I was really looking forward to seeing this game live - regardless of who won/lost.  Both teams would have obviously not brought all their top players, as was only going to be a friendly match - too bad, we won't even get a chance to see that.


I do hope Colombia improves and starts qualifying for the future World Cups.  I would love to see all three "tricolores" (Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela) qualify at the same time... I nkow, I know, I can dream! but it would be good that the not so well known teams grow and develope and be more competitive and surpass some of the traditional Southeamerican powerhouses such as Brazil and Argentina.

El sitio web  del técnico de la Selección, Luis Fernando Suárez (www.luisfernandosuarez.com) publica hoy que el partido amistoso que estaba previsto para el 15 de noviembre entre Ecuador y Colombia, en Canadá,  quedó suspendido.


La Federación Ecuatoriana de Fútbol (FEF) acogió la petición de la Asociación de Fútbol No Amateur de Pichincha (AFNA) y de la Asociación de Fútbol del Guayas de suspender el partido de preparación para la Copa América debido al comienzo de la liguilla final del Campeonato Nacional.
