esta es mi opinion

todos en este foro somos gringos latinos incluyendote a ti , pues todos vivimos en un pais en donde estamos espuesto a la cultura "gringa" . Estamos en un pais donde la lengua no es el espanol sino el ingles , la radio , television , periodicos , noticias , anuncios , propagandas , musica esta en ingles . Usamos el ingles en el trabajo , cuando vamos a comprar etc. A pesar que unos digan q son latinos y no se han dejado influenciar por la cultura gringa eso es mentira pues al meno que vivas en tu pais ( ejemplo , chile , peru , ecuador ,etc etc) tu has sido de alguna manera influenciado por esta vcultura .. Otra cosa que tambien molesta es que algunos latinos se cierran mucho en su cultura , y no se abren a otras culturas., yo por ejemplo tengo mis amigos latinos , pero a la vez tengo amigos gringos , escucho musica latina y musica en ingles , voy a discos latinas y discos gringas , eso no me hace menos latino que nadie.

yo puedo escribir en español si yo quiero, but from what i see in here is that everybody is replying in english. as long as you maintain your culture by keeping an interest in things that are important to latinos then your not considered a gringo latino.

here is a ? to the people in this thread

define some characteristics that make us latin. Things that we do, that makes other cultures look at us and say that is latin.

Our style of food

Our Language

Our Music

our Dancing

etc???

You stop eating at our restaurants... you stop speaking spanish.... you STOP listening to our music... you stop dancing our music.....you cut that all out and what are you left with. You will always be latin, that's just dumb to even think that's what i am implying. what i am saying is that you are taking up the gringo culture more then your latin.

hence the name GRINGO LATINO

Sorry bro, I dont really follow your logic here. I think you may have misunderstod what I said as me saying that clubs are stupid which was not the case at all, I like clubs, I go to them and usually have a good time there.

So I didnt mean that clubs where stupid, I just meant that WHAT YOU SAID IS STUPID (sorry about the caps, I just dont want u to get confused again)

More specifically; ur simplistic need to define an entire group of people based on "which clubs they go to" is ridiculous. I understand clubbin is a big part of your life and you seem to derive a great deal of your self worth from that. But most people have diverse multifaceted interests and personalities of which "clubbing" is only a very small part of.

My opinion this thread is stupid...okay you dance to latin music...alot of professional latin dancers are infact GRINGOS (does this make them not so much of gringo because they can dance salsa?? and know who hector lavoe is??)...Yes I also perfer latin clubs because it's my preference when it comes to music (But I must say the crowds in some of these clubs do NOT IMPRESS Me!!) I come from euro/hispanic decent living in a gringo society but i know and am proud of my roots...BUT ANYWAYS good to here you finally learned how to speak spanish...

personallllly......when it comes to english clubs and latin clubs i stand in the middle of both..

english clubs can be good..at times only........when ur like bored of the latin clubs...nothing wrong with changing the scene for a bit..and heading to some gino club or some fulll negro dominated club...

but even doing that after a few weekends gets bored .....and welll you kinda miss being around ur gente...

then you got the latin clubs....but with its specific downfalls....

same faces...same music.....

see thats why the only latin club im feeling right now is privilige ..cuz its a mix of both scenes...

I go to Latin and Non-Latin Clubs, and it's true about the Latinos in non-Latin clubs using the "Hey, Im Latino" line to pick up white chicks. I've seen it time and time again, its funny to me because I know for a fact if i was to take these same Latinos to a Latin club, they'd stand as close as possible to the wall and bump their head just to try to blend in.

I personally don't care if they use the line or not, but its good for a laugh or two. I go to non-Latin clubs for the most part to change environments and just to chill with my non-Latino friends who aren't into the Latin music scene. I've hit a sh itload of non-Latin clubs, and i think the quality of girls in non-Latin clubs is better... not to punk off my Latinas, but for reals, some Latinas go on like they the sh it, non-Latinas don't have to front like they have anything to prove.

Meh... who cares... Latin or Non Latin clubs, they both play annoying music.

See that's where you're wrong, I indeed LOVE latin music and love dancing to it, that is the ONLLLYYYYYY reason I can honestly say why i step into these latin clubs in toronto...And majority of my friends are latinos, it just so happend to work out like that i guess...

i knew this thread will upset alot of people because i know a lot of latinos that are not into pur latin music and dancing . latin Music is only one part about your latin roots but it is a big part and our music is what we are the most proud of. If you are so proud of your roots why not your latin music roots or hanging with people from your latin roots too!
