The good thing is that we have so many choices in music, food, dances, etc. Some of us may not dance one type of music but it doesn't mean we never hear it or sing it.

Some of us in Canada have the chance to enjoy other latin american dishes ,that if we had stayed in our countries, would probably had never tried. Maybe in our own countries we would see other latin countries food and people as exotic.  Luckily, here in Canada, we tend to blend among ourselves and name things latin as in latin music and latin food.  The latin music selection at HMV includes salsa, merengue, bachata, some pop, very little rock, may be some Piazzola's tango, and opera.

Also,There are so many more kinds of music such as son cubano (the mother of north american born salsa), andean music, pasillo, punta, etc, etc, that we listen to in Canada perhaps in the privicy of our homes.

Ironically, there's new music such as reagetton which clearly has jamaican roots and for the purist could probably be considered gringo-latino.

I think we in Latin America are very open-minded when it comes to music.  We listen music in english, and many italian and brazilian singers sing their music in spanish or in their mother tong. Eg: Totto Cotugno, ROberto Carlos, NEck, Laura Pausini, Domenico MOdugno, etc.

So lets enjoy y que siga la fiesta.

In my opinion,
english clubs are good but wack at the same time. Before i started sabor nuevo i used to hit non latin nights to, but it was like i was being force feed music that i don't want to hear all night.

People in these clubs just stand there looking pretty and the odd slut goes wild. I look at all the gringo latinos inside these clubs that cant dance salsa if there life depended on it.

These same so called latinos only know aventura and daddy yankee but pretend to be hardcore latino when its time to pick up chicks.
Inside Latin nights you are dancing the night away. You can mix and mingle with the entire club if you want.

NO FAKE A** GIRLS AND GUYS. It was an easy decision where i wanted to be but dont get me wrong i like all types of music.
I am latino and i speck spanish and dace latin music.

Those other night clubs cater to gringos....They play there gringo music all night and show love to there gringos first before you.
ARE YOU A GRINGO???

You are just an indian ... Enough say.

I guess it it really a matter of personal choice.

Just like many North Americans or Europeans who go to South America, and want to be part of it all, and live there, and raise their kids there; anybody who would like to just be part of the North American culture, no matter where the person is from, I don't think it is reason for demeaning the person.

I personally choose to know about as much as i can, from everywhere. But some people might really really like one culture in which they were nor born or raised in. I don't think it should be embarrasing for them, it's their personal choice, and if they are going for it, then more power to them.

i wouldn't be. Being born in a latin american country and raised in north america doesn't make me any less hispanic. Maybe that person who knows more about my country could teach me a few things. And i'd suggest for that person to run for presidency in that country so that he/she could make a difference with all the knowledge he/she has. I'm an adapted north american hispanic.
