i agree with HUGO chavez is the president of VENEZUELA and it should take care of his people FIRST, he seen more concernt in been famous for insulting other presidents and not for making his conutnry better place for his people.
The question is WHERE IS ALL THE MONEY HE IS MAKING IN SELLING OIL, Bush is a bad leader but Chavez is worse than him, at least Bush take care of his people.
at least Bush take care of his people. I don't think those Louisiana people believe that.

Using the power you have to follow your own believes and look for you're own benifits is not new....I admire chavez for not holding back his critisism for the US.
I won't hold back my criticism either, Chavez is a clown and a crook!

Hugo - Thank you for your first hand insight! That was a fantastic post! That further convinces me that Chavez is too wrapped up in oil and Bush that he is losing grip on his primary job of running a country and taking care of his people. This man needs to get his priorities straight and stop wasting more time and money that his people don't have.
That is one up ridiculous system he's got going for the Universities. Blackmail and control is not the way to motivate the best and brightest minds.
I had nuff respect for Chavez, bringing doctors from Cuba for the poor, paying poor ppl's University tuitions, bashing Bush, etc BUT all that changed three weeks ago when I got to go on a business trip, and experience Venezuela up close and personal, Caracas esta hundida en el crimen, guns everywhere, everyone willing to kill for a miserable american buck, it was the scarriest experience of my life, to sum it all up, i had a freaking bodyguard taking me to the hotel (paid for by my company), i couldn't leave the hotel for three days, and when i needed a cab back to the airport cabbies would refuse to go coz it was already getting dark and they didn't have their gunds with them!
What kind of a ****ed up country is that?!
I was born and raised in Latin America, lived downtown Tdot for ten years, gotten mugged, seen fights, stubbings, but nothing was as scarry as seeing the desperation on these ppl's eyes, Caracas is one freaking scarry city right now and it is all because of Chavez, the oil barrel used to be $17 b4 Chavez, it is now $70!! And where is all this money?!
Caracas is in a valley and on the hills u see ppl's houses, cayendose, ppl taking dumps en el mismo cerro where they live, el puente al aeropuerto se cayo de viejo, and it takes 2 hours to get to the airport driving through these shanty towns, favella style homes, newayz, for whoever supports Chavez, do ur research! I don't support the US either, there is gotta be some happy medium, just think about this, 90% of all the weapons being sold around the world (including Africa and South America) are sold by 5 countries, the same five countries that have the most say at the UN (ONU)!! Wouldn't it make more sense for our fellow LatinAmerican polititians to spend that money in hospitals, schools, or shelters?!
And btw, the tuitions issue, the cabbie that actually had a gun and drove me back to the airport explained to me that his daughter gets her Univ tuition paid for by Chavez but to repay him she HAS to vote for Chavez and attend meetings del partido sometimes upto 2am! Even if she has exams next day, they miss one meeting they and they are out of school!
El comunismo no funciona, ke le paso a la Union Sovietica, China, the Eastern European countries, etc
Newayz, just thought i'd share my experience with you guys.
Much Love n respect for Chavez, is about time some1 in Latin America say something 2 the U.S. for trying to rule n bully the world. Specially Latin America Thanks to them most of our native countries are F@ck..........
I don't think he is obsessed witht he USA. I think he is simply saying what is on the mind of many people. I applaud him for being so bold and aggressive.
"The imperialists see extremists everywhere. It's not that we are extremists. It's that the world is waking up. It's waking up all over. And people are standing up.
I have the feeling, dear world dictator, that you are going to live the rest of your days as a nightmare because the rest of us are standing up, all those who are rising up against American imperialism, who areshouting for equality, for respect, for the sovereignty of nations."
Even HIS (Bush) nation is shouting for this but he/they are driven by their own agenda and not what the ppl want...
In a way, I agree with Qixote. But if the USA government, besides meddling as it always does in any oil-blessed country, ALSO designs, supports, orchestrates and encourages a military coup and kicks you out of the presidential palace and ships you off to an island..... that's gonna give you bad memories.
Part of me wants to salute Chavez for being bold enough to label Bush as the devil while at a UN meeting in New York! It is almost comical. If you watch the video you will even hear some applause and the translator even holds back a laugh.
Another part of me thinks he spends way too much time and energy being so anti-U.S. . I bet he thinks more about George Bush every day than Laura Bush does.
