I used to ride my bycicle to college and that helped me save big bucks ($7 daily parking fee).

I also used to work after clases and on weekends, and as a co-op student, payment was bad but it helped a bit.

Try getting into a Co-op program, it's hard to get in but it will help you save some money and you'll get some experience at the same time.

I agree. I bought most of my books used and it wasn't so bad. I still have them, though. Not a good businesswoman. I should've sold them the year after.

As for education, at least we have access to it. So many countries where students wouldn't even DREAM of having a post-secondary education. We're lucky. We're really, really lucky.

Oh, yes! This is a dream come true for me... as I sit typing on foro with my book abandoned at my side. DAMN YOU, BORO! I hate you!

like others said it's not too bad.   It just means that you have to learn to live with in your means.  That refers to your car.  If you have no car means no parking fees, no gas money, no insurance..etc, i know it takes more time to get places but you gotta do what you gotta do.  right?  and you get to study while on the bus.  THant's how i got through college.

And about book, buy them used.  They post them all the time in libraries and now on craiglist if you've been on it.  It's actually amazing, better than e-bay. Copy and past the address cause i don't know how to make it a link.

Besides, I might just sell mine next year.

Every single penny I earned this summer and more just went down someone else's pocket. Tuition was a biotch but so are books. My stupid history book was 120 and that's nothing compared to others.

I am in agreement miguel.  Even at $6000, that can be covered by a full time summer job and a part time job during school year. You don't even really need OSAP.  I won't say it is cheap but it is affordable compared to the U.S. for example.

According to this web page, the average annual tuition for post secondary school in the U.S. is $12,605 USD!

university is about 5-6 thousand a year

i don't really get why people complain so much about the cost... if you have a job and work a lot of hours they'll give you almost 40% back in taxes... seems reasonable to me.

What are the average tuition costs for full time college and university these days?

They used to be relatively inexpensive compared to other countries - I'm curious to know what they are like now.
