Oh, you're such a romantic, Phanta! Lucky the girl who ends up with you...
@ God: I'm such a girl, it's sickening. I hate myself for it, but I can't help it.
BTW, all is well in Buffyland... I just came back from the second best thing to alcohol for drowning sorrows: Shopping!!! And hubby'd sent an e-mail (a very sweet e-mail). And I'm not needy in the sense that I need gifts, I just wanted to know he remembered. So I'm now...
I know, it's annoying and obnoxious to be a woman and care about these things, but we do (or at least I do). So for all of you married, recently-married (JC, Duro), about-to-be-married guys out there, a simple warning: DO NOT FORGET ANNIVERSARIES!!!

There is no prerequisite that says he has to wish you a happy anniversary first thing in the morning. Perhaps he is planning something special later on?
I just talked to him right now...
He went on and on and on and on about some work-related crap and COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT OUR ANNIVERSARY!!! I'm no longer but
I need to go have me some rum for lunch to drown my sorrows...
Now I'm not doing anything special for our anniversary...

I know it might be inevitable.....but that's the problem with married couple somtimes.....they don't "date"......at least if it's once a month, they need a couple's night out.....make the time for yourselves....
Admit it Buffy...............you just want a gift!!! ke chocolates ni ke nada....lol
Actually I'm not even the chocolate/roses/jewelry type of gal (I'd prefer to get, I don't know, a domain name registration... ) but in this case it's the thought that counts. And we DO do date... we do things as a couple, but like I said, I'm a real sucker when it comes to important dates. They're really, really meaningful to me, and I'm the type of person who will go out of my way to make it meaningful to them. But it's just the type of people some people are, it's not that important to them, I guess.

I think women make a big deal out of this particular ocassion.
Birthdays should be the only "big deal" events......everything else is religious or federal! Birthday rocks
:gaspinginhorror: Forget anniversaries! How can you say that, LB? Vaya a lavarse la boca con jabón!!! The sacrilege!!! The horror!!!
When will you get taken out for dinner, then? When will you get chocolates? Flowers? Listen, after you've been married for a long time, any celebration you get is a plus. You look forward to them. There's very little "couple" quality time for romance, so these dates are the most important and memorable, or they become that, eventually. Plus I'm a sucker for celebrations. Maybe it's just me.
I agree with LB, the celebration should be all year long. I remember tell mi ex that I rather have a nice surprise out of the blue :norosesplease: that the ovious on a "special occasion"
But I know that Buffy do have a point, specially when you have kids. I don't think it's because the couple is not trying to get that romantic time apart from the rest, but they are so many obligations that it is not always possible.

Not all men are like this, My fiance and I have been together for more than 10 years and he still remembers every time. SOmetimes I forget and he reminds me this is embaracing to admit but it is the truth.
Anyway just wait your hubby will remember or maybe he has a surprise for you
Yesi
After 10 anniversaries, I'd remember TOO!
@ Boofy: ummmmmm... maybe 'cause he's on 3 hours sleep?

He usually does... he doesn't really go all out (he's not that kind of guy) but he remembers, that's why I'm kinda surprised he hasn't said anything.
There are men out there who ACTUALLY remember and go out of their way to be extra romantic.....each and every year for every ocassion......those men are either really in love or really care for their S/O......That's for sure ! Do you know one of them ? I mean a single one, of course ? Please share it, don't be so selfish
Not to say that the ones who don't remember don't care.....but it's sure coming across that way no? Well, I think that in a certain way they don't. Like....ohhh, now that she's here , there is no reason to make an effort, or something like that.

True Story: So today is our wedding anniversary (hubby and mine, that is) and technically, both of us have been awake and functioning for 3 (count them, THREE) hours. He was barely awake by the time I left the house, so we only had time to say "bye", which I don't even think he heard, so I can't hold him responsible for that one.
He still hasn't called, so I'm sure he's forgotten. I'll keep counting the hours until he remembers.
Why is it that men forget these things??? Why aren't birthdays, anniversaries and the like as memorable and significant for them as they are for us???
Happy Anniversary girl.
I know what you mean, I don't understand why men are like this. Men please aswer this question.
