Smells like BS to me

Do you know where the child IS? (I mean do they tell you where he/she is located?)
If so, i would just go... no asking or anything
Since when does someone need permision to see anybody? (other than the obvious visa, etc)

This is the type of things that make me doubtful of this organizations

Yes, I know where he is. In fact once ina while they send me pictures of him or a christmas card or something to fill up that it will send to him.

The problem going to see him is that I do not have an address, every contact is thru them and every comunication with the child has to be done by World Vision.

I also think that they should spend less money in advertising and use these sources to help more children. In my case I requested not to send more adds or publications and safe that money to help more kids.

Ugh! Hello??! This thread isn't about that... that. It's something else AAAAND that, I think.

Yes, hi

It's totally about that!.. spending a few thousand dollars (which could've gone to the kids, BTW) to put his thing together, to make us feel sorry for these kids (granted, we should) to get us to fork out cash for children we're not even ALLOWED TO SEE??!!!
WTF is that?!

Wanna bet they have people at the exit, with puppy eyes, asking for your "sponsorship" bah!
It's more about gathering up sponsors, than it is to show how this children REALLY live... otherwise they'd have no problem allowing you to see these children, in person... I think

I do appreciate the job that World Vision does and I also sponsor a child in south america with them but what make me upset is that I requested twice an opportunity to visit my sponsor child and they made it so hard that I just gave up.

They told me that I need to let them know at least 5 months in advance, I need all kind of police records and some kind of documentation that I didn't have time to filled up before my trips. I know the $35 that I pay every month is not making a huge difference for this child but at least is something and they should trust me enough to visit the child for what I do something.don't you think?

My advice to them is that they should make this process easy for people like me that want to meet the child that I help.

Damn it! I wanted to go to this but I forgot about it yesterday (the only day I could have gone). If anyone else is interested, here's the info.

August 12 - 18    Toronto, Ontario
8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
University Ave. and Adelaide St.

We are excited to invite you to World Vision's One Life Experience, a 3,000-square foot interactive audio tour through a African village. Each visitor will experience what life is like in the life of one of four children affected by HIV and AIDS.

The tour is free and takes approximately 30 minutes. Parental discretion is advised.
Click here to view the One Life video.
