Exactly, at this point is like saying, I am buying a condo in a new building by the airport. Now, because of the noize of the airplanes, what right do I have to make the airport shut down? They were there first. Well, so were nightclubs. I would not like to live in the clubbing district.
Yeah, those sunday afternoons... I was thinking the same thing. The people in the housing complex in the island are the complainers... bunch of whiners... The housing complex at the docks... to give some information, is government subsidied. Its not gettoh housing. So, what happens, these people that live there, they pay almost nothing in rent. Then, when they die or move out, they have the option to give the house to their next of kin, or something like that. Meaning, there is a waiting list of about 10 years for those houses. Everyone that moves there, never leaves.... either their son, daughter or cousin, etc.. lives there. While this is normal in "normal" housing, it is not in subsidied arrangements. SO... in turn, these people dont pay a property tax, we the taxpayers that like to party there on sunday afternoons do. A large number of the people that live on the toronto island are in fact somehow related or linked to some politician somewhere. Their rent is not event $500 bucks I am being told. SO providing this is all true, who gives them the right to complaint? Regarding noize polution.,,,,, why would you buy a condo right in the entertainment district. SO DUMB! Opinions please...........
Regardless of being subsidied or not. Who in his/her right state of mind will go and buy a property in the this district ? For more thatn I love to party, I love the calm of my place once I come back *ejem *ejem
No but for real, this is stupid and then the pple complain. I remember last year, I saw a documentary on tv about the ent. district of TO and owners of condos complaining about the noise. Get the F@ck out of here I was thinking, why did you bught there then ? Like they didn't knew !

This is no laughing matter dear Julie, that noise resonates all the way to the islands, and for them to be complaining about it for 10 years now, someone must have gone deaf for sure. Can you imagine your neighbour blasting his music all through the wee hours of the morning? Horrible!
Believe me I understand but I would have never imagine pple in the island we be hearing it.

WOW, just heard on the radio station 102.1fm that The Docks has had their liquor license revoked due to noise violations that have been accumulating. They just said it on the radio. Thats a heck of a lot more people that will be heading to party downtown Toronto.
