A good promoter to me is just like a singer that loves watching people sing there songs. It comes from the heart not the bank roll, the satisfaction of the business is incredible when everything is done right, a good promoter is that one that goes down but sticks to see the sunshine again another day, in this business there are many ups and down, the down should always inspire you on how to improve the marketing of your event and the right pocket of people that you need to target according to the artist or club and the ups should always remind you that after a good well done job in the promotion of the event people left with a smile and a good vibe because the profits can be unlimited, money wise and word of mouth. But then again that’s only my opinion since I talk to all kind of promoter’s day in and day out. AB……. Out…….Toma eh eh
I like this answer about the ups and downs and sticking around......
Basically it's HOW a promoter handles a situation.....whether right or wrong....(they are human too.....so they are not perfect).......but it's how they fix that wrong that gives them "character".....

One thing's for sure......Toronto lacks "responsible and trustworthy" latin promoters.....there are a few exceptions of course.....and those are the few businessmen who keep their word whether they lose money or not.....
So I would say that a good promoter always has a packed night....a good following.....and is very people friendly & political.....because you have to know when to suck up and when no....he must also be trust worth.....have credibility which in turn always earns respect......
A "wannabe promoter" is a person that wants the "fame & fortune" with no work at all.....and pretends to do jams or be involved in events cuando en realidad nadie lo conoce......pure bla bla bla......an all talk no action kind person......
