Are suspensions and fines appropriate in professional sports??? Some athlete get paid millions of dollars a year, and get caught breaking the rules all the time, and all they get is a 1 or 2 game suspension, and small fine, that for them it would be like coughing up $5. I think pro sports are too "easy going" sometimes, they need to send a message to the players, that some of their behaviour and temper tantrums will not be tolerated. Make them feel a suspension ... ie. 5 - 10 games, with no pay, and a large fine.-- Edited by El Pibe at 07:36, 2006-07-21
OMG i so agree!!! it should be like it how the little leagues handel it you pay $20 for your red card and get suspended for games not just one! depending on the seriousness of the CARD. I know i said $20bucks but i mean make equivelent to what they make! like seriously 6gs that Zidane got fined what are 6gs to him pocket change!!!
They should be more agressive and the punishment should be harder to show that they cant do that!!!! or else they will continue to and just say oh well whats paying so much and missing a game!!
