How many users do you have on that router ? Because WiFi works in a Funny way...they SELL us the idea od 100Mbps speed BUT on WIFI its shared....the speed you shared ....for example you have 5 users you will be getting only 20 Mbps....

The house is pretty big, and there are concrete walls along the way. I'm thinking it might be the signal weakness, together with a bad internal antena on the laptop that causes the problem.
Sometimes the signal disappears, but when you reboot, lo and behold, there it is again.
Concrete....for those cases 802.11b is better than 802.11g because G is based in Framebursting to achieve higerspeeds, so what it does is a packet bursting in small pieces that at the end becomes'weaker" than 802.11b....
