Meh I'm not sure. I'll use my buddy as an example. He was a cop first and foremost. As a cop, you have to work a certain amount of years on the street first and THEN, your sargeant or whoever will ask if you'd like to work in this dept or that dept. Actually, I don't think my friend had a choice. He was approached and they said, "You'll be with the so-and-so dept for 6 months." It was an office job which he wasn't too happy about but they gave him money for "office" apparel!!
Same with Mark, he was a cop first before any other dept offered him a promotion.

What do you mean train to be a cop?? My buddy went all the way and while he was in Aylmer they trained him there how to be a cop, then classes at CO Bick College and then straight onto the street. I'm not quite familiar with the "cop" scene as like I said, I wanted to go straight into Homicide but I have to be a cop FIRST for MINIMUM 5-8 years first!!! Mark Saunders is a retired homicide detective that I met a couple of times. Do you know how old he is?? He's in his mid-40's!!!!!! I WANT TO RETIRE WHEN I'M 40!!!!!! Mind you the guy started when he was about 18!!!! UGH!!! I'm 7 years off track!!!! @X: Enjoy the cuffs my friend!!!!
note to self: must get cuffs so princessa can make her dream come true.

HA!! I wish I had your mentality!!! Actually, as we speak, I'm filling out paperwork so that I can go back to school part time. So, who knows? Maybe I'll become the homicide detective that I've always wanted to become
What's funny is that every Wednesday, I see one of my old professors here at my work building off to train some lawyer/security company. I always turn into a 5 year old, screaming, "HI MR. NICHOLSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
