I replaced a couple of them, not sure I could guide you though... I pretty much just followed the instructions, very straight forward (greeen goes on "G" red goes on "R" etc)Unless you have a veeeery old home where the wiring color codes are diff, otherwise it should be "in and out"
Ask the home depot guy, but they all seem pretty standard (other than how you can program them)
Worst case scenario, you'll be without air for a couple of weeks

well it is an old house and not sure if its a 5 wire or 4 wire Thermostat etc.......about the color codes not really worry because like i said they are proparly labeled so I'll just take a pic before i take it apart so i know what color goes with what letter.

i think u miss read my post.......for sure I'm gonna asked them and like God said the instructions come with the new one and all the wires and screws are proparly labeled......my main problem is buying the right one that will fit the wiring in the house.

It takes 3 mins to replace it....all the wiring isntructions are in the back of the new one.... they have about 4 or 5 wires.. that's it...no biggie

yeah i figure that much but which one to buy......and I'm going from a mechanical one to a digital....will it still be the same?

I ask because I been reading on them and some have diff voltage, wiring, and some are use for water pumps and stuff like that.

anymore help will be greatly appreciated
