great idea... they did this at a party I took my kids to but each kid had to make their parent into a clown. so they all gave their parents big red noses and lots of eye paint... very funny but you have to have parents that are willing to make an a$$ out of themselves... you can also get some yarn and have the kids make a wig for their clowns!

Scavenger Hunt... its more work but you can hide clues throughout the party room which will lead them to the pin~ata.
DARE/Charades: Put a bunch of different actions in hat (age appropriate of course), each kid has to take out a piece of paper and act out what's on the paper... and they get a prize
Dance off: Kind of like musical chairs but without the chairs. they dance and when the music stops, they have to freeze. last one standing wins!

Oh ya for sure, althou I just saw the age range & my choices may not be suitable for all the ages.
Well my brother does as part of his daughter's b-day's in a party room & then he would compliment them with some sort of theme arts section, like painting or drawing something, ceramics, stuff that the parents can help thier child do & play with them.
The kids seem to have a great time. It's just kinda pricey to get all the kids ceramics, plus the paint, brushes & then have to get them cooked in those cooker they have & then he has to deliver them to each parents house or child. Tons of work, but fun.
