To add to JC's answer, North American DVDs are Region 1 encoding. Some movie distributors still use multi region DVDs to prevent bootlegging or releasing films on DVD to other countries before they are released in theatres, like New York release in June compared to a London release in December.

Just be careful when you go overseas to buy your porn, I mean movies.

PAL and NTSC are region code for DVD's. Pretty much north america and south america use NTSC and the rest of the world uses PAL.
Most DVD players now a days will play both format cause they are multi region, but the older players will not. Pretty useless way of producing DVD's and it becomes frustrating when trying to copy.....I mean play DVD's at home.

           who knows!! unless you have a DVD player that plays all types of dvds (i mean the fake burnt ones or the ones off the net! cuz mine doesnt i have to get a new one that plays dvd & dv(insert another letter here but having a blank moment!

Ummm....to go with all the requests they get for that one song in particular?!  Yeah, I don't listen to Z1035 anymore because of that!!!

So sometimes I want to ask a question but I feel no desire to start a thread and I'm just too lazy to google it.  I'll start this thread for ALL the random questions/comments and knowledge that come to mind.
