Shy Latina and I would like your input as to which destination you would recommend. Our 2 choices are Punta Cana or Cancun; if you’ve been to either one of these destinations please let us know which one would be a better place to visit for a week. Have fun whereever you go chica. Cancun is just a little bit more of a party place. Punta Cana is wonderfull too, has great beaches. Now its a slow season so it will not be as crowded as mush as during a Oct, Nov. ... Feb. March. months. I believe that Punta Cana would be also just a little more inexpensive. Regardless where you go, you make your own fun... Have an awesome time!! If I could I would travel all the time.

We can only go away now 'cause our kids are not in school and it's easier to make arrangements for a whole week. Also, this is the only time our companies let us take vacations.
I've been to Punta Cana & i had a great time, but it's not a crazy atmosphere, very calmed, families, just not what i expected, if I knew it would of been that quiet, then I would of gone to Puerto Plata which after i came back to TO was the more hype, party place.
Don't get me wrong the resort was beautiful, food was great, most cleaness beach i've eevr seen, Puerto Ricans were god lord gorgeous, but in the day it was a bit quiete cause not many young single ppl were around.
Cancun........nah not my cup of tea, way too much vulgarity for my like. Maybe if i was in my early 20's i would go, but now no way.

I have not been to either one, but I have had friends that have gone to both. If you are looking for busy week of partying, and drunken stupidness, then Cancun is probably your better bet. A friend of mine went 2 yrs ago in February, saw the snow outside, went home did a load of laundry, repacked his suitcase and went back for another week.
If you are looking for something a little more relaxing then Punta Cana could be a better choice, but I don't know how the night life is there.
