anyhow we made history today.....even if we loose in the knock out rounds...this is a big step for ecuadorian soccer...and we accomplished alot

It was a valid observation by a casual fan and a comment based on preference and not intended as hate for Ecuador.

You go to a concert. Pick the genre of music you can listen to...but don't necesarily love.
THere is an opening act and a closing act. The first band sings flawlessly. The sound is perfect! But the band and the singer just stand there.....no emotion....nothing for the crowd to feed of from!! 

Second band goes on........they're a bit out of tune.....they mess up some songs.......but they give it! They interact with the crowd....they're dancing...they're living it up!

I think that 90% of the people would rather see and great show....than hear a great band. The other 10%...the true fans of the music....will think otherwise....

I really don't know if it has to do with being humble or not, and I haven't seen their games, so I won't comment on how they DO or DO NOT celebrate their goal... it's trivial, really
For most of these player it's their childhood dream, to play in the world cup... so how do you hide your enthusiasm?!!! I think it's just the way they celebrate... period.... passion or not

As far as the Brazil Ecua comparison... that's not a fair comparison... brazil has only played on game vs two on Ecuador's side... actually MOST teams have only played one game... too early to compare, really
