Humping is always good but if they think it's a bit much, then at least give us some butt slapping.

I haven't seen one game yet because of my pinche job so I couldn't tell if the Ecuadorian players were zombiefied after every goal. But I sifted through this thread and basically yawned...lol. Nothing surprised me with the immaturity ....la gente se offende tan facil y alli salen los insultos de niño. (and the BAD spelling..lol) Puto sea el que lo niege...

Ecuador is winning so far...let them celebrate... it's just their 2nd appearance in world cup history...They made it to the 2nd round...Good for them...last time (ahem..ahem..thanks to Mexico...they didn't..lol) Congrats to the Ñaños...I think maybe they'll have a slight chance of beating Germany...
But don't get too cocky...or else you'll just be short dark Italians in my book..lol

GO ECUA..

So I'm back from a wonderful afternoon after Ricky's show downtown and I come to a 3 page thread where more than PRIDE I felt a disrespectful tone taken towards "others" who are not in the world cup....
All of you Ecuas totally mis-understood my point....and failed to understand that ALL OF US ARE VERY HAPPY FOR ECUADOR AND THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENT (including myself - someone who has more Ecua friends than Ecuas themselves).....but you missed that point too.....you just went on and on calling me a "hater" (whether jokingly or not) and making comments like "this is such a big deal for Ecuador and Latinos...etc..etc...etc.....and YES IT IS!!! Nobody is disagreeing at all.....another point that you all missed......
TOTAL MIS-COMMUNICATION for people (or Ecuas actually) who did not read and comprehend my point of view....a simple comment of what I had noticed from watching this World Cup as a fan......
I loved the way Ecuador played today....I loved the goalie's "cheeks"....the goals were NICE and controlled!!! .......etc...etc.....I as a viewer and fan of the World Cup expected some excitement from the players upon scoring a goal.....and got none.....SORRY FOR EXPECTING A REACTION THAT I THOUGHT WAS SHARED BY ALLLLLL SOCCER PLAYERS WHO HAVE HAD THIS AS A LIFETIME DREAM......I APOLOGIZE FOR EXPECTING TO SEE SUCH A PASSIONATE REACTION AS I HAVE SEEN BY EVERY OTHER PLAYER FROM EVERY OTHER COUNTRY WHO HAS ACCOMPLISHED EVEN MORE THAN ECUADOR.....BUT I DO NOT WHATSOEVER APOLOGIZE FOR MY COMMENT AND POINT OF VIEW......I feel that it was not disrespectful at all......
I was just wandering why Ecuador was not so excited...that's all....I find it odd for a country who has accomplished this much so far......don't you? .....Of course they can react however they want (strategical, confident or whatever).....I just made an observation......
I even stated that maybe "lack of passion" is not the right term....so I'm sorry for my lack of "vocabulary"......but those who did not jump to conclusions.....understood what I meant....
You guys took this from PRIDE to a whole new level (of maturity)......and to be honest with you, I really expected more maturity and maybe even an explantion of something that I might have missed...EXAMPLE: the confidence factor......but the first and immediate reaction was HATER!!
I say a whole new level for not knowing how to communicate.....and letting this world cup fever fog up your brains ......
Come JULY 10 this will all be flushed down the toilette....gane quien gane!
X & Princessa....out of all the comments made....I expected so much more from you two....at least the understanding and explanation part.....but I do understand you for being "caught up" in the moment of your country's pride....even if extreme!
@ Danny.....you totally dissapointed me for being so FAKING disrespectful (te pasaste and you know it)......you might not look ghetto, but you suit the crowd with the way you carried yourself on here today......especially the over weight comment.....que verguenza.....My ecua friends would be soooo ashamed of you for not having any class......yuck!
All of us can hit you where it hurts but someone with no shame like you but not feel anything anyway.....so why waste the energy......come on MSN and talk to me like the respectful human being that you are OUTSIDE of foro....you totally turn IMMATURE when you log on to foro.....I don't understand why? How come the rest of us remain normal?
FYI: I sat in a car today that had an Ecua flag waving on my side and I was so happy to see the people celebrate such a big deal.....INTERPRET THAT HOW YOU MAY......
I love the game and watching how each team's players play and react....etc....I'm not rooting for anyone in particular....but for personal reasons I prefer Spain and Argentina.....but if Ecuador is in the finals I will be just as happy, especially for my true friends who are not extremists.....INTERPRET THAT HOW YOU WILL......
I now know the kind of Dr Jekyl and Mr Hyde people I'm dealing with on here
......don't trip others along the way and at least try to maintain your composure.....is all I can advise!
I'M VERY DISSAPOINTED BY THE COMMENTS MADE ON THIS THREAD!!!

Totally agree... hear, hear.

As they say in Spain... comparar a Brasil con Ecuador es como comparar a Dios con un gallego.

Sorry. There is just no comparison. Not even remotely.

I'm very happy for Ecuador, mind you. I think they're playing solid soccer this tournament. Better than Germany. Better than France. Better than England. Better than Portugal.

But better than Brazil, on the basis of how they've performed against two manifestly mediocre teams (Poland and Costa Rica)? Let's ground ourselves, shall we?

Ecuador can beat England, the way the two teams are playing. They can beat Germany too.

Not that Ecuador is doing anything extraordinary... they're just playing efficiently... middleclass soccer.

Nothing too flashy, but not too many mistakes either. And above all, putting the ball in the net.

No one is saying that Ecuador sucks.......only that the teams seems to lack enthusiasm......that's all. If that makes me a hater.... then I'll make sure to hate your team as much as I possibly can!!!

I thought they were ranked 5th....
Anyway I agree with Baina!!

The USA and Spain share fifth place... for whatever it's worth.

FIFA rankings are only good to give you a very, very, very general picture of where a team stands.

Ecuador PLAYED GOOD - attacked to get the first goal, continued their plan to attack afterwards and scored their second goal... only then they started to relax a bit and be more defensive - pero overall, jugaron bien y they deserved the win!

As for the celebration - or lack off - who cares about it... it's the score that counts!

Ecuador through after beating Costa Rica

HAMBURG, Germany (AP) - While the vanquished Costa Ricans hung their heads in bewilderment, Ivan Kaviedes pulled a Spiderman mask from his shorts - in Ecuador's team colour of yellow, of course - stretched it over his head and ran around like a schoolboy.

If anyone deserved to celebrate, he did, after scoring two minutes into injury time and putting an exclamation point on a 3-0 victory that put Ecuador in the second round of the World Cup for the first time.

His masked-man stunt was a tribute to Otilino Tenorio, a teammate killed in a May 2005 car crash in Ecuador, just three days after he played for his country in a friendly.

"He is a partner, a friend, a brother who was with us and is a part of us," Kaviedes said. "He was with us a long, long time, and he transferred to us this joy that was very contagious."

Tenorio, whose nickname was Spiderman, used to pull the mask from his shorts during his goal celebrations.

"We had a feeling that he was present with us," said Carlos Tenorio, who is not related.

Carlos Tenorio and Agustin Delgado scored their second goals of the tournament for Ecuador, a country with few international sports triumphs. In the Olympics, its only medal came at the 1996 Atlanta Games, when Jefferson Perez won the gold in the 20-kilometre walk.

Back in Quito, the streets filled with celebrators. Ecuador and host Germany (both 2-0) claimed the two berths from Group A and will meet England, Sweden, Trinidad and Tobago or Paraguay in the second round.

"We're now thinking about being group leaders, we think about winning every game," Delgado said. "We want to win the next game, even though we're in the second round."

Ecuador plays the Germans on Tuesday, needing only a draw to claim first place.

"I think it'll be the most beautiful game to play, even more so because we already advanced," Delgado said after the players dedicated their success to "Spiderman."

Costa Rica and Poland (both 0-2) became the first teams eliminated from the 32-nation field.

Tenorio scored in the eighth minute and Delgado in the 54th. Goalkeeper Cristian Mora, again playing with Ecuador flags painted on his cheeks, jumped with joy after Delgado's goal.

Historically, the Tricolors have found success only at their home field in Quito, more than 2,700 metres above sea level. But after winning just once in 10 games coming into their second World Cup, the South Americans have won two in a row, starting with a 2-0 victory over Poland last Friday.

"We wanted to come here and demonstrate that we can play well at this altitude and we're doing it," Delgado said.

Costa Rica, Central America's dominant team, was coming off a 4-2 loss to Germany in the World Cup opener and was eliminated in the first round for the second straight World Cup. Four years ago, the Ticos lost out to Turkey on goal difference.

"I am very sad, the same as everybody," said coach Alexandre Guimares, who is unsure whether to accept federation president Hermes Navarro's offer to stay on.

Tenorio scored his seventh goal in 31 international appearances after some nifty passing in the midfield. The ball was played to Luis Valencia on the right flank, and he crossed around Costa Rica captain Luis Marin to Tenorio, who burst ahead of Douglas Sequeira and beat goalkeeper Jose Porras with a header from close range.

Considered the successor to Delgado as Ecuador's top scorer, Tenorio left the game at halftime with an injured right ankle.

Delgado got his 31st goal in 70 appearances on a play that followed a throw-in, collecting a pass from Edison Mendez with his chest, bursting between Marin and Michael Umana, then beating Porras to the near post. Kaviedes' goal was his 14th in 46 games for Ecuador.

Costa Rica's best chance to get back in the game came in the 42nd minute, when Sequeira tried to bounce a header in and missed wide. A minute earlier, Porras had to lean back to parry a deflected cross. Alvaro Saboria hit the underside of the crossbar in the 88th, only to have the ball bounce out.

"We have played three World Cups and, yes, this has been our worst," said forward Paulo Wanchope, who plans to retire from the Ticos after the tournament.

Kaviedes, who replaced Tenorio at the start of the second half, scored in the second minute of injury time from six yards off a cross from Mendez, getting by Marin and sliding to poke the ball in.

"We made history and that's what we came here to do," Ecuador coach Luis Suarez said. "We achieved our first goal, but it won't be the only one."

I didn't read the whole thing,. but for the comments i did read,. I agree with LadyBug,. Disrespectful and out of topic. I am ecuadorian,. and to be honest,. with u about the question ,. they have always celebrate like that,. just run,. and sometimes the go to the coach,...about the "teamness" most of them have played together in other teams so they know each other,. but at the same time,. some of them had have arguments in the past,.. I think it s not lack of passion,. it s the way they are,..even if u see them playing in other teams internationally,. they don't celebrate it that much,.

I AGREE! I SKIMMED THROUGH THIS THREAD AND IT DEFINATELY GOT OUT OF HAND! I DO AGREE WITH LADYBUG ON HOW MUCH ENTHUSIAM (oh geez, i know i spelt it wrong) THEY SHOWED. I WAS ABLE TO SEE THE LAST SCORE AND WELL, I WOULD HAVE EXPECTED HIM TO DO SOME CRAZY MOVES AND DROP HIMSELF ON THE FLOOR!!

BUT WHO CARES, I KNOW THEY ARE HAPPY JUST LIKE EVERY ECUADORIAN OUT THERE!!

Nothing about that!!! The comment was made about how they celebrate......THAT'S ALL!!! And right away....you get a bunch of chest pounding, grunting fans that take it as a personal insult to their team and they're play!!!  Talk about over reacting to the slightest thing. It was a valid observation by a casual fan and a comment based on preference and not intended as hate for Ecuador. Let me see if I can put this in terms you might be able to understand.... You go to a concert. Pick the genre of music you can listen to...but don't necesarily love. THere is an opening act and a closing act. The first band sings flawlessly. The sound is perfect! But the band and the singer just stand there.....no emotion....nothing for the crowd to feed of from!!  Second band goes on........they're a bit out of tune.....they mess up some songs.......but they give it! They interact with the crowd....they're dancing...they're living it up! I think that 90% of the people would rather see and great show....than hear a great band. The other 10%...the true fans of the music....will think otherwise.... Now do you get the comments about the enthusiasm?!?!?   OH I THINK U SCARED THEM THERE ALL GONE NOW!!!

I don't think so..genie

and why can't some people be happy for ecuador.. every time one latin american country does well there is alway, someone to make a commet about something about the team..I.E. uniforms, goal celebration, pride, when brasil palyed bad against croatia no one said any thing why?
