I think that's a non-American/Canadian thing.  I've never seen "white" parents spank their kids but I've seen black parents go nuts, hispanic parents go nuts, asian parents go nuts........

Umm.. What's the best way to discipline children?  How did your parents discipline you?  If you have children, how do you discipline them?  Or how would you plan to discipline your "future" children?


My mom preferred to beat me with whatever she saw, whether it was a belt, her sandals, a jacket, or the deadly pinch and twist of your skin, whatever.......


My dad, on the other hand, would give me the silent treatment, tell me I'm not going outside to play and give me extra homework.


I found the my dad's method more effective.
