Congratulations Chile,. I hope everything goes well,.. God bless you and Chile Jr,. the only thing that I always listen when there is a pregnant woman around,. is eat as much as u can before going to labour,. because u r gonna starve in the hospital,.. Wish u the best
Glad to hear everything is going well Chile. As for the epidural, I had an epidural with my first baby and a spinal anasthetic with the second one, and so far so good. And it does not harm the baby in any way. BTW, what hospital are you going to? Because I know downtown hospitals seem to have the best anaesthesiologists. I went to Women's College for both my kids and it's the best.

WOO HOO Chile Jr stirs up some contraversy just like Mommy
Okay so I have read about a million books on childbirth....gone to some prenatal classes and spoken to more than one doctor and a couple of nurses re: epidural they all say the same....there are some risks but as long as you listen carefully and don't move while getting the injection you will be fine.
There is no doubt that Buffy is right about men NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER having any clue how painful childbirth is. I wish it was like getting into a fight because then I would have no problems...no worries and almost no pain

Hummmmmmmm crap what do I do now. I wonder if I have enough power to do it naturally. It would be great if the labour was so fast that I don't even have time to worry about a needle. I rather that but who knows.
I say: TRY and go through labour WITHOUT it... if you can't handle it, then get the epidural... As I guy, I will never know how much pain it is to deliver a kid; but I know that many moons ago, there was NO epidural, and women delivered many kids without it.
Some people have side effects later in life, some no side effects whatsoever.
