You're right, I am also going based on hear say, but I do have practically all of my family there, and not for nothing some of them are not the type that I would hang out with because of what they are involved in. So when I hear what happened from them, it wasn't quite what we heard in the news here. Somethings were true, but most of it was a little white lie that was increadibly embelished.

SO TRUE BRO, ONE PERSON IS GOING TO SAY ONE THING AND THE OTHERE IS GOING TO SOMETHING ELSE
Did you read the Colombian Newspapers??? The dispute started over women, then "the Mafia" brought up the whole own goal thing, and thats when the mixture of alcohol and tempers ends up in a dead player.
Women = troublemakers, AS USUAL, biatches!
Hey, The Mafia/Hitman can make it look like an accident, suicice, or just make him disapear and no one would find his body.

bro he was shot because he scored on his on net it is a fact, and i'll tell u why because colombia was the favotite to win the world cup that year, even the great pele said that colombia will win the cup and la mafia colombiana had a lot of money riding on colombia, and the club thing is just a cover up, bro i'm half colombian and when colombia made it to the world cup in 90 i was there supporting them and the same in 94, everytime ecuadoe and colombia go at it i go for ecuador because that is were i was rasied, and about ecuador in the world cup it will be a good show and we will make it past the first round we have the skill and the players to do it, even maybe we will make it to the quater finals

We played well. Screwed up on ONE game and now you're penalizing???? Pfft!!!!
Regarless, falling a hair short of qualifying still don't bring you to the big dance... I DO hope the Colombian team get new shinny shoes for 2010 in Africa - along with Ecuador, of course

that MAY be the case, BUT, we have already gone further than Colombia has!
@ Pibe: Yes, the coaches are colombian - but all the players are Ecuadorean... regardless, no dejo de ser agradecido con ellos, specially Bolillo

He was the one that changed the way Ecuador played, and it turned that team around entirely. One of the main problems with Colombia, is the inconsistancy with their team roster, and the have been able to find a replacement for "me" (hahaha) I mean Valderrama. They were unfotunate not to qualify for this years world cup, they missed out on the playoff game (where Uruguay was eliminated) by 1 point. If they would have played the whole tournament they way they did the last 5 games where they won 3 tied 1, and lost 1. With type of performance they would have qualified quite easily. But what can you do when there is no consistancy. Hope fully for 2010 in Africa we can go. You are absolutely right - Ecuador LOVES Bolillo... He even stayed as coach after he got shot somehow... don't quite recall lo que paso... and now we hired another Colombian as coach: Luis Fernando Suarez!

Ah who gives a Shit about Chile. Now that is a Shitty team. Chilean soccer bores the living crap out of me and it's been like that for a while now. I focus on the few Chilean players that are doing something outside of Chile but that's about it. Oh and on top of the SHITTY national team my favorite team COLOCOLO has an ASSHOLE of an owner and so I don't even watch them anymore. Hummm 8+ years? Has it been that long? Hummmmm
I don't give a **** about Chile either. I just thought you would care a lil more than I.
Yes - and in 2002 Ecuador qualified for the World Cup in SECOND place, ahead of Argentina even (only second to Brazil) in the South American group... and considering it was a frist timer in Kore-Japan, it didn't do too bad winning one game, while losing 2; but not embarrazing themselves.

I wouldn't give the result too much weight. Friendlies are an opportunity to try out different player combinations and tactics... specially when the world cup is right around the corner.
I agree here... see costa rica lost yesterday 2-0 against a team in spain

First of all I'll like to say Ecuador did not I repeat didn't no use there star they used there beanch the only starter on the team was the goalie so if colombia think it good that they tied guess again
