Yes - and in 2002 Ecuador qualified for the World Cup in SECOND place, ahead of Argentina even (only second to Brazil) in the South American group... and considering it was a frist timer in Kore-Japan, it didn't do too bad winning one game, while losing 2; but not embarrazing themselves.

 

 

 

 

           

I wouldn't give the result too much weight. Friendlies are an opportunity to try out different player combinations and tactics... specially when the world cup is right around the corner.
