I'm with your NB on this one. She's establishing her rules early on. She won't give you any surprises down the road. It's easier that way. I rather deal with someone who does things straight up and not with an indecisive boss who tries to please everyone and doesn't show any leadership and people walk all over her/him. On that note, though, my boss is very decisive, but she gets along with people fine. I don't know how she does it, but she's really cool.

Well, it's not about having a new boss, but my mgr is a woman and she's great !

She really thinks about her team and is concern about their well being and career developement. OK, ok, she just signed me up for corporate trainings to get more exposure with "cacas grandes" for my career dev. and enrolled me in the team that is going to put thogether the C.S.C.S day event with meetings/conferences and FUN amongst other changes

 

So Yes, she's a great manager. Actually I worked with men and women, as manager in the past and had no problems with either both. Direct/same level women coworkers though, that's a complete different story !

I work in an industry where I deal a lot with contractors....all different types of contractors in fact sometimes I am the only female at site tours and stuff like that.  You gotta have thick skin to deal with some of the clowns around here trust me.

@Bistor...this lady comes up from Boston a lot because that is where our finance dept is located and once she actually said and I quote "so boyz any good strip joints in Toronto"....she isn't even a strip joint type of woman.  She tries smoking cigars and getting "in" with the guys but they just find her funny It's strange it's like she isn't secure of herself...having her position and being a woman.
