Ok, I went to "El trompo" myself, and all I can say is nice try.

I mean the tacos are ok, but not excellent, I asked them not to put onions and they did, so just there they lost the tip.

Like God mentioned it took them forever to serve us and the food wasn't the best.

After going to almost every Mexican Restaurant there is in Toronto, Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo o and Guelph, I came to the conclusion that people who open Mexican Restaurants have no idea on what Mexican food is. Or maybe they do but they change it too much to attract the Canadian customers. (Too bad - Nothing Authentic anymore)

I am glad I am going to Reynosa, Mexico next week (business) I will finally have some good Mexican food.

Anyway that is just my opinion.

So I take that u like "El Trompo" & would recommend it to ppl.

Is it pricey??

Do they charge everything individually?? X & I went to this place on Shaw & Bloor in the corner & it was ****y food & kinda pricey for that ugly place.

According to my ex (she's mexican) the flavor of el Trompo is very close to the real thing, back in charrolandia... so I take her word for it...

and yes, it is expensive for the amount of food you get...

I'm telling you, people... the food is worth the trip to Ajax! MJ, the restaurant is at Harwood and Bayly-- 200 Harwood to be exact. Get of at Westney if you're coming from Toronto, go East on Bayly and then turn left on Harwood. Drive North and when you see Pharma Plus, just get on that plaza. Mexico Lindo is like 5 doors to the left of Pharma Plus (its left , not your left... it'll be your right). I had the number somewhere but I lost it. If any of you guys go, let me know how it went.

Oh, and BTW, before anybody shoots me for not saying this, they DO NOT have a liquor license, but they will soon.

Okay I went to that place....and firtst of all the food it's Okay...nothing amazing
The service..... is slow and they mixed up the orders
No liquor License.
The Prices are good tho!

It's basically a more authentic Taco Bell kinnda thing, but nothing compared to El Trompo, which I find it more "mexican".

I think I posted this before, but just because I'm senile like that, I'll just say it again. We went to Hernando's Hideaway the other day. I hadn't heard good things about it, so I never really wanted to go, but it was the only latin kinda thing around (near Front and Bay) so we went. I must say, it was pretty good, very tasty. Not insanely expensive, and really yummy food. The place is really nice too, and the location is actually very good, very accessible.

But if you want goooooooood mexican food, you have to make the trek to Ajax. I know JC Penney PM'd me about this, but I have no idea who he/she/it is, so I'll just post it in general. This place is, IMNSHO, the best mexican restaurant around. The food is the yummiest of them all. The owner is the brother (and former cook) of the guy at Plaza Garibaldi in Danforth. The nachos in that place are to die for and the enchilada suiza, oh man! I could have that for breakfast, lunch, dinner and midnight snack every day of my life. You guys try it and tell me if I'm wrong.

ok can u post the information please! on the Ajax thingy!! thanks so much

@MJ ill post it later when i call orales mom to get the info!!

When I took my mom and sister there I got the same experience, it was good food, not amazing but better than any other Mexican restaurant in Toronto. And when I got the bill I was like WHATTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I prefer to buy the ingredients and ask my mom to prepare a pasole or mole o gorditas o tacos.

Well, say what you will about Taco Bell but I still like it. Although it not nearly half as good as it was about 10 years ago. Yeah, nevermind, I don't like it anymore. It's just crap. Has anyone tried that wrap thingamabob they have that's good to go? That's one of the nastiest things I've ever seen if I ever did see a nasty, nasty thing (and I've seen a lot of naaaaaaasty things).

The Chilli cheese fries supreme there and the Nachos supreme are the best from Taco Bell.

Although to some Taco Bell is not authentically Mexican it ranks pretty high on best tasting Mexican restaurants/fast food places.
