Would being lucky have anything to do with "destiny" and what's meant to be will be? ...or simply being at the right place at the right time with the right people....etc
I think that being good at what you and having some luck along the way is an incredible mix!

@Neruda: I prefer my child to be good at what he likes,.. being lucky is good to certain extend but,.. u will never be THAT LUCKY,. u need to work hard to get where u want to be,.
@MM: Probably ur friends are in a different field ,. they r confuse,. they should focus their mind looking what they like,.. sometimes ppl are confuse,.. and they just do it,. because they r getting paid for it,..
@ Neruda, I would like her/him to be both but not perfect. Just a kid that will follow the normal learning path and will fall from tiem to time and learn how to get back on track.
BTW, I haven't ssen the movie so...

Funny u post this, I was gonna post something about is there such a thing as luck? Or is everything predetermined? I know, SHIOT but what if your child is talentless or unlucky? How soon before kicking him out of the house?

Further to the movie review thread on "Match Point" (which I happen to think is brillant), do you think its better to be good (at something) or lucky?
The argument goes that you can be good at something but never be successful because you were unlucky, or you can find great success at something beacuse youe were lucky, not because of any real outstanding skill.
