People who sell life insurance and stuff like that ask about one's mother ( I guess most of us have mothers or have had one), and then they start a conversation; once they think you like they they come and sting unsuspecting people with an offer about those insurance or staff. It kind of sucks but hey!, they've gotto do what they 've gotto do , I guess

Ok, have you had this happen to you .... You are minding your own business ... la la la ... and someone comes up to you and says something like : Hi (your name)!! Wow, long time! Como estas? Como esta tu familia? ... blah blah blah ... you pause to think ... this person knows my name ... so you assume you know them but can't remember the face ni nada ... LOL.. this has happened to me before...
I usually go with your first option.. i just keep going with the conversation.. after 2 or 4 min within.. I get a clue of who that person is... ...
If I don't really recall that person.. I just walk out of the conversation slowly...

I went with option B when the other day this guy came inside the elevator with me and said, "Hi MJ" and I knew he was gay (so I didn't feel threatened) but I had no clue who he was. So I just looked at him like a retard and then he said, "It's me! David. From so-and-so!!" and then I said, "Oh hi!!!!" I've had this happen to me so many times and I guess to best answer your question I do both. If the person gives me enough time to talk I ask who they are, but I they are just yapping away and won't let me talk I just go along with the conversation and end it when they take a breath and stop.
