I found your posting almost by accident, and since your presentation isn't until July then I guess I can help you out a little bit with your Business Plan. In any case, it will help you if you ever plan to start up a business of your own.
First off, you need to find some business which you believe in! If you don't but still think your idea is good then you have to make the audience BELIEVE that your business idea is really good and a financially viable venture. Does this make sense? If you don't believe in your own business, then who will?
Second, you have to think that a Business Plan's main objective is to obtain a bank loan, grant or whatever you want to call it (funding). This often involves honouring a bank covenant or a set of requisites that you must meet periodically in order to continue being elligible for the bank loan/grant. If you meet certain financial ratios as requested by the bank, there shouldn't be major complications repaying the debt. In the case of grants or government assistance, these can be forgiven if you operate successfully and meet or exceed the above mentioned ratios. Accounting ratios, and therefore knowledge of basic accounting becomes of utmost importance. Remember, if you can't convince a financial institution to fund your business, then you're doomed. Throw in some accounting, this will impress the audience/marker.
Third, I would strongly agree with a suggestion previously posted on this forum; follow the templates in MS Powerpoint and don't take any shortcuts!
Business plans are a b!tch to create, I had to make one for my company... God is right, takes more than a couple hours, takes weeks to do it right.
I would recommend doing something u are interested in cause there's research involved and a lot of inquiring... it would be more tedious to do a plan on a subject u don't really care about.
I used the business plan template that came with PowerPoint... its quite detailed and I got approved for my bank loan so i guess it helped.
Just to add... don't take any shortcuts... trust me, you'll learn more

@ Confu.... how about putting together a TV show? that's would like a business plan and since you're into the entertainment field it would be appropriate...
you would have to structure an idea for a show, look for sponsors, etc.

A proposal is what we as a charity use to ask a corporation, etc. for a long/short term monetary committment. It basically sells the foundation & it has the pro, benefits, etc. of sponsoring us & supporting our vison & mission.
Now I'm not sure if this would be considered a bussiness plan, but some proposal do incorporate some of it.
