It bothered me so much, and I loooved the book. I would've rather seen it in whatever language it is they speak ('cause even though the movie was set in Japan they used actors from all over the place, mostly Chinese) and then have it subtitled. I hated to see the effort with which they were trying to speak English and act at the same time, so I was cringing most of the time instead of enjoying the movie.

Yes, i didnt think the English was that bad, only on some people, especially on the little girl that played the Geisha when she was a little girl.  Her english was horrible.  The worst is that I bought the movie at Pacific Mall and the cover everything is in Russian but obviously it`s in English.  The english subtitles no tienen nada que ver with the English being spoken.

I like them all, depending on my mood.  I read Gone with the Wind twice before I saw the movie.  Someone recommended to read Memoirs of a Geisha before watching it, but I couldnt contain myself and I had to watch the movie.  It was beautiful.  One of the best movies I have seen in a very long time.  As for bolly flicks, not many are based on novels, and I cant read hindi (fluently) so no point in that.  I also listen to the soundtracks of bolly films.  The Da Vinci code I am also contemplating on reading it before watching the movie.

It depends.  When I get home, I love to sit down to a good book but when I'm in "cleaning" mode, the music has got to be pumpin'!!!

I'm not a big movie fan.  I have to justify sitting down on my butt for 2 hours and not getting paid for it.  Or, it has to be a movie that I'm dying to see which doesn't happen often.  Although, "Ice Age - The Meltdown" was FANTASTIC!!!!

Very true. Perfect example is all of Stephen Kings movies.

I have almost equal appreciation for books and movies, but I went with books, 'cause I enjoy them for longer.

Books are way better...especially if they play out in your imagination like a movie!

What do you enjoy more?  A good book, movie, album(cd)?

I would have to say a good book in my opinion is more rewarding than a movie or album. The problem is that I have only really enjoyed like 3 or 4 books that I would consider reading again.
Movies and albums beat books in replay value.
