Yeap she made everything from scratch, it was delicious.  Ella trajo casi todo en una maleta por que yo le dije que aca no vendian todas las cosas que requiere el mole.

Ohhh Mole is the best, I just had it last week.


I friend came up here for a week from Reynosa and she cooked Mole.  I felt like I was back in Guadalajara at my grandma's house.


Missed the good food from Grandma.

Ingredientes




  • 250 gramos de chiles mulatos desvenados y despepitados
  • 350 gramos de chiles pasilla desvenados y despepitados
  • 350 gramos de chiles anchos desvenados y despepitados
  • 250 gramos de manteca de cerdo
  • 3 dientes de ajo medianos pelados
  • 2 cebollas medianas picadas

  • 1/2 pan baguete
  • 60 gramos de pasitas
  • 125 gramos de almendras
  • 1 cucharadita de anís
  • 2 clavos de olor
  • 1 astilla de canela
  • 125 gramos de ajonjolí
  • 1 cucharadita de pimienta negra
  • 3 tablillas de chocolate de metate (el que se utiliza para hacer el chocolate en leche)
  • 150 gramos de jitomates pelados y picados
  • Sal y azúcar a gusto
  • 1 pavo grande partido en piezas (se puede sustituir por 4 pollos)
  • Un caldo hecho con zanahoria, cebolla, apio, perejil y ajo

I've only tried the one at Dos Amigos (uptown) it's kind of sweet. But I do like the Mole Doña Maria. I think if Karla won't make it, I will.. hmmm maybe for Easter!!! yummm.

Why don't you buy Mole Doña Maria, it's not htat bad and you can still add whatever you think is missing ?


I mean, I doubt that the one you will have in a restaurant will be home made anyway.
