Dear Abby... err Loco Lopez, are you a trainer/nutritionist? I was training with a trainer for umm 'bout 8 months w/ great results. I increased my muscle mass and burned fat... WONDERFUL.. then after my sessions ended with my trainer I became lazy and didn't train for a good 3 weeks. I joined a new gym and during my fitness evaluation, I noticed that I had lost muscle mass and my body fat was up by a couple of points. SO, my question is, do you need to be consistent with your weight training in order to not lose the muscle mass? I realize the answer is pretty obvious but I hadn't realized that a few weeks of not lifting weights would have such an impact. Well I'm back to lifting weights (w/o a trainer) and I feel better but what happens when I've reached my fitness goals? Do I need to continue training for 3 days a week? OH ONE MORE THING! I currently am doing a two day split workout - upper and lower body... should I change this up at any point? I've heard about a four day split before but I'm not too clear on it. Well i've taken alot of courses in nutrition and in fitness (active life style management) i'm not yet certified but going trough the process of it, i've had many seminar with swiss herbal, nutural factors, sisu and flora.
Too answer your question you should still stick to your program to maintian and keep your physique and yes you should change the your workout routine not you split. if your split looks like this
monday: Chest, Shoulders, Tris
Tuesday: rest
Wednesday: Leg, Calves and Abs
Thursday: rest
Friday: Back, Bi's and Abs
weekend: rest
with 30 minutes of cardio after every workout is the best for miantance. But after a month you should chance it up like on monday do back tues legs wednesday rest thursday chest and friday back agian etc..... hopefully i answerd your questions but if you have anymore hit me back!!!

not really true i recommend training when you energy is high or highest wethers it's at 5am or 11pm !!!

I had always understood that protein shakes are unnecessary if you are eating properly balanced meals. Most people (aside from vegetarians) get enough protien in their normal diet. In fact shakes would ultimately be detrimental to maintaining a healthy weight because they are unnnecessary calories. If your goal is to build muscle mass (I mean a lot of muscle mass) then maybe. But who wants to look like your avatar anyways. Most women find it unattractive and you'll look silly when your over 40 with big man tits. From what I hear only other men find it appealing. but like i said b4 i can't eat or cook on the regular so i use protein shake and bar as a meal replacement, plus after work there very beneficial because the fuel your damaged cell. But also protein shake are extra calories that some might not need, but if you wanna build muscle it's an essential part of you nutrition.
