Actually she's not wrong. The crow may represent death, but in Guatemala and El Salvador according to my familia and others it is said if you hear or see a Lechusa it means that someone will die. It is also said that if you do see one or hear it you should not acknowledge it, because if you do then it is certain that someone will die. It's like you're confirming it. I believe this, because before my Grandma died she told us that on many occasions the lechusa would sit on her windowsill at night and sing to her, and she would just throw her shoe at it, but it came back often, and months later she passed away. I'm not a superstitious person, but this is the only one that I believe, because it actually happened to my dear Grandma may she rest in peace.
Wow, u are asking Ms. Superstition right here. I pretty much believe them all. Some more then others because you never know. Lots of strange things happen in this world.
@Duro - I never heard the one about the sweeping before. What is the theory behind that one?
