 I used to play "ADMIRAL" when I was a kid; it was a great game about destroying all kinds of ship.  Both players couldn't see the ships, when one decided to attack the other player he would place the little wood square on top of the other, a third player (referee) would then say who killed the other based on a numerical scale.  Cool.


Another game was " Lo Siento" or "Sorry", easy game, lots of fun since we used to throw away the other guy little peace with so much gusto.


We also had an ancient english game in which we had to read and do whatever the little cards told us to do.  That game was so old that the characters and little metal pieces looked like something from pioneers times.


And of course, we played chess,chinese checkers and regular checkers, and monopoly for hours.

Cranium is oodles of fun but depending on who you will be playing with you have to buy the right edition.


Scattegories tons of fun as well.


MAD GAB is a new favourite of mine.  (hint, if you try talking in a jamaican accent, you're able to get it for some reason)


Sorry is a good family game.


I agree with Baina (may he RIP - fbnrb) Monopoly has the ability to ruin friendships and family ties.

I loved Mouse Trap back in the day.
I just saw it the other day at the Super Store and am going to buy it for my little cousins and join in to take over the board.

That operation thread reminded me of board games and when I went searching down memory lane I found this... I never saw this thread...


Anyway, I never played monopoly. Of the ones that I've played, I like Scattegories best. Anyone ever played Guesstures? It's fun! What other games are there? I buy one every year and I don't know what to buy for this one.

Chess and monopoly are both interesting, in their own way. I hear bridge is too, though I haven't played it enough to have an appreciation for it.

I would go with Monopoly.


It's such a good game if you play fairly....and all the way to the end.....


 


....if not..


 


....It has to power to brake up families and friendships!!!
