waste = watch maury povich

spend = watch the cyder house rules /the movie

waste = expect people in Toronto to be friendly

spend = be friendly to Toronto people.

Ok, ok know-it-alls with the word difference. I mean when it comes to time, what's the difference? Illustrate with examples, please - compare and contrast so that I can understand.

Time is meant to be spent, but not wasted.

Spent = resulting in a postive outcome
Wasted = resulting in a negative outcome
