You can work on 'the line' which interviews passengers, the office, the mail department, cargo etc. To work full time, you do need to complete that training program. This enables you to get promoted and work different areas as well.
To be able to DJ every weekend is possible depending on your shift and which department you work for. It may very well be a steady 9-5 but most, if not all officers on the line work rotating shifts.

I'm only asking because I went over the border the other day and my buddy asked what are the qualifications and they said French is an asset. Can you tell me how you applied so that I can help out my friend? Thanks! No french is not mandatory. I worked for customs too.
I edited my post. Can you answer my other questions since you worked for them too?! Thank you!!!

I'm reading the website for customs agents and apparently you have to complete an 8 week training in Quebec. Did you have to do this? Also, how do you DJ when customs agents work seven days a week on a 24 hour basis doing shift work?? Can you work part time?? Sorry to be a pest. My buddy is looking for something flexible.
Can you tell me how you applied so that I can help out my friend? Thanks!
