I spent 4 hours working on a project.....and just as I was getting up to walk around for a bit....I decided to FINALLY SAVE the damn thing....... As I'm walking away from the computer......we get a power serge!!!!! HAS ANYONE LOST HOURS OF WORK ON THE COMPUTER.....BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T SAVE IT ON TIME?!?!?!?
when i was at york i had to write an essay in spanish. now i have enough trouble writing one in english...let alone in spanish. i was using this spanish writing program ATAJO. i was writing the works cited list and i pressed shift 'a' to write a capital...and low and behold my work erased. it was 3 in the morning and i had class at 8 in the morning. i had to rewrite it all...i hate computers sometimes...
I have to save every ten seconds. Now it just became automatic. The program I use freezes, especially my machine, 'cause I have the latest version of the program we need, and everyone else in the office has the last one, so my machine requires the most memory. To make a long story short, it'll crash at least two or three times, if I'm lucky, so I've just learned to save, and even so, I've lost work many a time.
Now I save even when I'm typing an e-mail. My brain does it aumatically.

When you've lived in Mexico, you learn to save your work often. Even e-mails. I sometimes copy it before sending it. I've lost quite a bit like that - not that that was important anyway but still... it's frustrating.

sometimes i do dumb things like flatten layered files and then save them with the same name so it's almost as bad cause i have to start over again..... but yeah, i've lost a lot of work with power failures/surges
