I hightly doubt it. He doesn't look like it.

He's typical Japanese. Very slim. He's not even tall......He's about 5'9"

So yeah......He's a great example.

u mean the 2 japanese players are major leaguers for MLB?

Yes.

Actually.....One of MLB best best players.......Ichiro Susuki....he plays for the Seattle Mariners..... He's the only player in history to hit over 200 hits in 5 seasons in a row. He has one of the best throwing arms from the outfield in the majors....and he's speedy.......Very well rounded player.

...and the other one is Akinori Otsuka. He's a pitcher for the Texas Rangers

Viva Cuba!

although seriously, it was a good game, can't believe Cuba got their 'assets' served to them at the end... it always comes back to the pitching.

Yep!

The teams with the best pitching...always win!

Just like in other sports.....the teams with the best defence.

Cuba was at the mercy of the rules.

See......the major league pitchers were on a pitch count....meaning they couldn't throw more than a certain number of pitches.......Cuba has no major leaguers....and they're in the middle of their season.....which means...they could pretty much throw all day........Cuba was not allowed to use LAZO...on of their best pitchers.....because he had pitched too much in the semi finals.........

It's also good to note.....that both teams in the finals were teams that are in mid season in their respective lands.......the Major Leaguers are still in spring training.....

Also.....out of the 175 (give or take) Major Leaguers in the whole tournament......Only TWO of them make it to the finals....both being in the Japan team.

Curling is HUGE in Cochrane, Ontario.

It isn't all about baseball and soccer.

TOKYO (Reuters) - A Japanese teacher, gripped by the baseball fever that seized the nation during a game with bitter rival South Korea, was forced to apologize after watching the game in a classroom where students were taking a test.

Many avid fans in both countries tuned into last week's World Baseball Classic game, a cliffhanger that ended with a 2-1 victory for South Korea, their second win over Japan in the tournament.

But a 47-year-old primary school teacher in the western city of Osaka found himself in trouble after pupils complained that he watched the game, played Wednesday night in the United States but broadcast live from midday Thursday in Japan, while proctoring a test they were taking.

According to the Yomiuri Shimbun daily, the teacher watched the game on a classroom television for about five minutes during one of two class periods devoted to the exam, then watched the game with students during the lunch break in between.

During the second class period, as the game grew more heated, the teacher occasionally turned the television back on, prompting some students to shout "Hit the ball!" whenever Japan appeared about to score.

Other students, though, later complained that they were unable to concentrate.

"Some students were looking forward to watching the game, and I was also anxious about it," the teacher was quoted as saying.

"I was very thoughtless."

The school has said the exam results will not be included in the students' grades, the Yomiuri said.

Japan gained a measure of revenge Saturday, beating South Korea 6-0 to clinch a place in Monday's championship game against Cuba.
