i always noticed that there are different words for love in other languages and the degrees of love that exist...english on the other hand just has one that can be applied to all types of situations (i.e. i love my mom and dad, i love my house)... same word used in both but has totally different context in hindi, there are atleast 7 words for love that i can think of, each one relating to a different kind of love...i think the confusion lies in the way we associate love as a concept with the way we are able to describe it... love is enduring in nature, or its supposed to be, it should not die and fade with memory, it should get stronger; that is what i assume to be IN LOVE WITH SUMONE when that feeling of hopelessness from not having them in your daily routine feels like your missing sumthin important, but very few people ever experience this...therefore, i conclude that there is a difference btw loving sumone and being in love

In English it's either LIKE or LOVE....in Spanish it's amar o querer.....AMAR being the strongest term......but people use more TE QUIERO than TE AMO....

I think the word LOVE is overated and used many times without any feelings to support it so in other words NO GOOD But Querer & Amar are way different ... tu puedes querer a todosss y cualquier cosa pero solo amar uno (y no incluyo cosas aqui) ... I guess if I consider Being in Love as Querer and Love as Amar then yes there is a difference at least for me ... For me I know I am head over heels and blinded by someone when I say to them TE AMO!! I think it has more power BUT it hasn't occurred

Your right eh..!! I too believe that in spanish its WAYYY MORE POWERFULL..I have never said..TE AMO to anybody yet.....but i mean Te amo sounds soooo far and beyond! lol te quiero definately just sounds blah...

scientists actually broke it down to a chemical that the brain produces during the intitial stages of courtship.. this gives us the feeling of being 'in love' this doesn't last. loving or to love someone is the more natural chemical state.
