Ya, lately they have been showing some pretty funny ones. And the newer ones tend to be funnier because they get into stuff that they consider "taboo".

I've seen my share of Bollywood movies. Some are HILARIOUS!!!! The last one I saw was "WATER". I didn't like it too much. It was alright.....but nothing special......I thought it'd be better.
Again, that is not necessarily in the Bollywood category. Although a great story, and the lead actor, leaves my mind wondering to far away places

I just watched Bride and Prejudice a couple of weeks ago, and found it very interesting, specially the chemistry betweent he lead actors. The music was entertaining too. Would that be considered Bollywood?
Not really, like I said before, that's a more Western undertone. Although the actress is a bollywood actress, the whole story line and setting dont categorize it as a bollywood film. And the fact that she has an actual kiss in this movie, that is not typical of a bollywood film

Without getting too deep into the subject, Bollywood films, for the most part, are direct rip-offs of North American films, and not just one... like 5 different movies put into one.... that could be the reason why only a handful, if any, are actually pushed to the NA market as they are not direct copies. and yes i know, there is no originality in anything blah blah blah and i'm not knockin bollywood flicks, i'm just sayin if u actually watch a bollywood film u may recognize a lot of NA plotlines and characters from movies u know.
There are a few that are rip offs that I can think off the top of my head, but majority of the films are all original bollywood stories, settings, etc. Especially the older ones, they have nothing to do with anything western.

I think Russell Peters said it best.....
"....at some point....we're all gonna become a chinese / indian hybrid race. They are the two largest populations in the world...by far.........Sooo....at some point......we're going to F@CK YOU!!!"

Good Question! They are not marketed majorly to the Western audience.....so if people are not "aware" or "brainwahsed" they won't look into something that's not familiar.... They have their own award shows which are great BTW....lol
Yes, my counterpart is correct. Their Oscar show is the Zee Awards. Like my sis said, they are not really marketed to the Western audience, unless they have a western tone to it (e.g. Hollywood/Bollywood, Bride and Prejudice), or done by more "westernized" director (e.g. Deepa Metha "Water").
