Type of Brasilian music... THIS ONE  scroll down, there's some samples


It's strictly for dancing, In carnaval it's usually a huge band like 30 or more guys, percussion only, it's super LOUD!!! and usually just one girl in skimpy clothes dancing to it... yuk! lol
It's amazing how the girls move though!!!
Do they do this as well in Panama carnivals? anyone?

La calle está dura y la vaina se ve muy mal
Pero a nadie le importa cuando llega el Carnaval

Sometimes the shows overlap.....but the artists usually perform more than once....so you can pretty much catch them all.....


El Rookie is probably performig en Las Tablas...or Penonome.........The artists I just put.....are all the ones performing an la Capital.

        QUE ES CARNAVAL


Desde ya, comienzan a retumbar por todos los rincones de nuestra bella ciudad, los tambores y alegría que anuncian un gran despliegue de colores brillantes, remembranzas y disfraces..

Podemos dividir esta gran fiesta panameña en dos zonas geográficas. Los Carnavales del interior de la república y los carnavales de la capital que ya comienzan a tener su propia identidad "El Carnaval de Panamá". Cada uno con su propio folclore y proyección cultural. Influenciados por la realidad de la región y alimentados por las anécdotas de nuestros viejos, que siguen conservando viva nuestra historia y tradiciones.


Los Carnavales del interior caracterizados por su lujo y esplendor. Sus bellas reinas que representan a sus pueblos, organizados en calle abajo y la calle arriba, es un ambiente festivo, en donde predominan las famosas tunas que al sonar las murgas entonan cantos llenos de sátiras que critican a la reina de calle contraria, pero a pesar de esto la armonía y su contagiosa alegría son innegables .


Los Carnavales de Panamá tienen otro sabor, desde tiempos memorables los capitalinos disfrutaron de los más elegantes y famosos carnavales de la región . Así nos relatan quienes vivieron el esplendor de las comparsas de la época y de los famosos toldos, en donde se presentaron las mejores orquestas y las figuras más renombradas de la farándula internacional.
Recobremos con esfuerzo y tesón estas bellas épocas del carnaval capitalino .


En el nombre de Todos los Panameños y de esta hermosa ciudad en la que se respira desde ya un aire de alegría, folclore y diversión sana, queremos invitar a propios y extraños a disfrutar del carnaval de Panamá del 24 al 28 de Febrero .
