the recovery disk are not necessary, all it does is bring the computer back to initial state(i.e. when you got it from Dell)
all your friend needs to do is borrow a win 98 (or later) disk and install it. As far as drivers go, they can be downloaded off Dell's website or the vendor website if he/she knows the brand and model of each part.

DG: I know it's a little too late now but windows 98 is notoriously unstable, hell, all of windows pre-XP is but I know i have 98 disks here, i will try to find them for you for Friday if it's ok.

Ay dio mio!! Yeah no $$$$ ...

But I found out that her computer does TURN ON (so no VIAGRA needed LOL) ... but goes to a blue screen and says something about a recovery disk soo yeah all the items above is needed...
