I can't believe this!!! Press Release: Roxy Club in Boston FROM JOHNNY MARINES, AVENTURA’S MANAGER February 20, 2006 First of all, Aventura extends its sincere apologies to its loyal fans, many of whom traveled long distances just to attend the show at the Roxy in Boston. In my own words, I would like to explain what really happened: Because the contractual language contained all Engagement Agreements entered into between Wilson Sanchez Entertainment and any contractor grant the group the first option to close the event, Anthony, who travels separately had not yet arrived. Since he knew the band was scheduled to close, his arrival time coincided with the second set. In the meantime, since 10PM, Frank Reyes had been sitting in his limo behind the Roxy. Though he had been informed that Anthony was still on the road and therefore the group could not open, he didn’t demonstrate any intention to perform or to cooperate as professionalism would require. I then met with the promoter Rafael Jaime and Jesus from Frank Reyes’ management team, and I explained to them that there was no way possible to get Anthony on stage for another hour. Jesus refused to call Frank Reyes to open the event. Time passed. Finally, Aventura went on stage and began playing the introduction while waiting for Anthony who, by then, was to arrive within the next ten minutes. At this point, the crowd got desperate and their behavior became violent. They started to throw their drinks and plastic cups at the musicians. Thinking only about the safety of the musicians, I ordered everyone off the stage. I myself watched Super Canal Caribe (El Poder de las 12:00) earlier today and was shocked to hear Frank Reyes’ manager Sergio Santiago come on the air live and state that the audience did not want Aventura to perform and that they were screaming for Frank Reyes. Personally, this is the most absurd, ridiculous comment I have ever heard. If we had not been needed to pack the club, why would the promoters have paid aventura 3 times what Frank Reyes charges? I question the motives behind Frank Reyes’ management team and its false assertions on television. Undoubtedly they are utilizing this sad event to obtain media hype. It would behoove them to consider the fact that Aventura sells millions of records around the world. We are an international group that has innovated bachata and taken it to a new level, exposing it to audiences throughout the world and opening doors to traditional artists. How much more does Aventura have to accomplish in order to obtain its due respect? All in all, opening or closing a show doesn’t matter to us – what is important is that we give a great performance for our audience which deserves the best after paying to see and hear a great show. Sincerely, Johnny Marines *** So now they put blame on FRANK REYES because Anthony was late  **

Oh, and not all members where here in T.O ... pero si ROMEO tiene su own jet

promoters who put on shows that are large scale should purchase liability insurance to cover expenses when things like this happen... the cost of the insurance isn't even that bad! then, everything is happy and the financial effects are minimal.

Unless of course, you can name me another "big show" to contact......regarding this matter.....

Been there done that bro!!!!
I one time specifically asked the band I was playing for....if they had taken care of the work permits before crossing to the states......they told me that yes....they had done that........Don't we get to the border...and stop us all......and I'm the only one that got sent back because proper permits weren't issued.....
I was soooo pissed off!!!
I had to walk back across the bridge......'cause the frigging band left me behind.......that was the last time I played with them.

You're right.....and funny thing is....9 out of 10 promoters do this to save a few bucks.....
But it wasn't the case for AVENTURA.....they were physically here in this country over the weekend.....with their band and instruments.....they just somehow POOF! ended up not performing LOL

Why dont u and your family, write to Aventura. Im sure there must be an email address on the website. Im sure if enough people write in, (not signatures, actual emails) they will realize how dissapointed the fans are here in Toronto.
good idea....I doubt it will work.....
Rumour is that AVENTURA is breaking up so why would they care NOW about their image and letting fans down.....especially in "little eskimo" CANADA....
