Doesn't that suck to cry when people are around you giving you this look  ??? Then they do this

I refuse to watch "Titanic", "The Notebook", "Forrest Gump", "Gladiator" and any other movie (which is practically EVERY movie) in front of El Pibe.

I saw the movie My Family/Mi Familia this weekend. It's been out for years, but I just watched it. What a great movie. Great cast and story line.
If you haven't seen it you should check it out. It's considered a latino classic

Hey I also watched Blood Diamond, is great! The last one I watched was "The last King of Scotland" I liked it a lot, and since I had the opportunity of meeting Forest Whitaker months ago, I felt so proud of him.

True. That's the only reason why I will look for it on video. I Jim Carrey.

And btw, holy crap, girl! How often do you go to the movies?

I can't believe you went to see it. I read reviews on it (pretty bad ones) and decided to pass on it.

Anyway, I just finished watching High Fidelity (welcome to seven years ago, I know). I really liked it. It's sappy yet funny and the music is not bad.

"What came first, the music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns, or watching violent videos, that some sort of culture of violence will take them over. Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss."

-Weeeeeeeerd!

John Cuzack. He's actually in a lot of  movies I like. Not the greatest ones but not bad ones either. He's a pretty consistent actor.

This is a great movie and definately worth a look. I hear the Illusionist is just as good, and after watching The Prestige I am excited to watch it too.
It's amazing how good this movie was, and how little attention it got while in theatres

I think instead of watching either one of those I'll look out for the original Magician Movie: The Cepillin Story.

I read somewhere that a lot of people (I'm assuming Mexicans) were not pleased with the movie because it depicts their ancestors as savages.  I dunno.

Yes it's long but I was entertained. I guess like any epic there will be parts that drag. I can't speak for Mexicans but even Lahtina agreed it was a savage time back then. And weren't we all savages before we became "civilized" by the Spanish?

Other than that, it was great cinematography, great story and it helped put visuals to an ancient peoples' way of life. Although some actors were North American natives mixed with Mexican natives, it was still believable.

Mel Gibson, he is a master movie-maker.

I didn't think about that until i read your post! That's true.

Well i give the movie 2 thumbs up. But other then that, i really liked it.

The only reason why I wouldn't watch this (though I probably will) is that I made the mistake of watching that Michelle Pfiffer movie which looks A LOT like this one and it just pissed me off: same old story: pretty white chick comes to the ghetto and inspires loser black/hispanic/(insert your race here) kids who don't know that they can do something better with their lives. It just sounds like another piece of americana to me.

Same reason why I'm not interested in that movie either!!!

El Pibe and I went to see "The Holiday" last night with Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, Kate Winslet, and Jack Black.

I cried because I'm a big sap and it must've been good since El Pibe didn't fall asleep through it.

Overall, I thought it was nice, wasn't overly ridiculous and it was very heartfelt.  What the women go through in the film, you (the women of foro, that is) can relate to.

I loved it!!!  I give it an 8/10.

The two movies that I saw this weekend:

Walk the Line -- Awesome, awesome movie, very touching and the acting was superb, especially Joaquin's. That guy just doesn't do anything wrong.

Madea's Family Reunion -- I watched this movie 'cause I wanted something light and fluffy and was expecting to laugh my head off. Well, it has its funny (really funny) moments, but it's sad as hell. I almost went through a box of kleenex! And it's also very thought-provoking. Even Maya Angelou and Cicely Tyson are in this movie! So fitting that I watched it on MLK weekend (without even knowing).

I loved this movie. It's a sports movie and kind of like Coach Carter, but I like the story in this movie better.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre - 5/5

Most people won't give this a 5 out of 5. The movie is Gory as hell. Senseless and graphic violence. I read some reviews on websites and they butchered this movie. Some gave it a 1 out 5. They say it's over the top violent, but that's what this character is supposed to be about in my opinion. I liked it. Lots of blood, and suspence.
Don't think too many people would like it though. This is more for people who liked Gore movies like Saw and Hostel, but this is more violent.

Watched Saw III. Extra super gory. Over the top bloody.
Good twists. Over all, nothing special.
