I love some of the TRUE reggeatoneros... ie. Tego.
Say what you want about this mans looks, but his lyrics are wicked!
And his flow is right on track too.

I dont necessarily like the 'followers'.. the ones that try to imitate the big dawgs of reggaeton.

But Im sure that Tego could put on a wicked performance

True. I don't think the Foro would have that big of an impact to kill Fitos popularity or Reggaetons popularity. I personally feel that people in Toronto(spanish ppl) are more into traditional music in the clubs like salsa, bachata, merengue and so on. I don't mind reggaeton, I actually love a few songs, but I would prefer the other genres. Especially when you compare the quality of a live perfomance between a real band or group of musicians compared to reggaeton artists.

Yup Torontos latin scene is more of a salsa merengue bachata thing..totaly agreed

and alot of reggaeton artists r amazing on stage too, u just havent seen enough:p

spanish reggae from panama is just a spin off of jamaican reggae..same beats almost, u even had guys like el general and nando boom rhyming over jamaican beats. but i still like it to bad it doesnt get enough exposure

IMO what killed reggaeton here was the lack of knowledge from the DJ's on the genre....u always got the same songs over and over again and again anywhere u went, if u keep on doing that people are just going to get sick......to tell u the truth the best reggaeton set i ever heard was at Fluid on a Thrus night and that was even before it got sooooooo big here in T.O.

That's right. It's not dead. It's just not as popular anymore....in T.O that is.
It's big in Montreal and SOME parts of the states. Mainly NYC and Miama.

So every other state and province is not really feeling it. Does that make them/us smart or dumb music listeners?

Is it just me or has Reggeaton begun its slow but inevitable decent into the shadows of the 'has been'?

Maybe its cuz I havent been out to a Latin club in a while, but I havent heard much reggeaton lately.

I know that they were playing some on Z103.5 and starting to play a couple of songs here and there on Flow... but I havent really heard much from our dear friend Reggetoni in a while.

Just a concerned citizen wondering whats up?

Anyone know its whereabouts?
Should I send out an S.O.S. to Danny 416?????

mitad, reggaeton is never going to die, reggaeton has been around longer than bachata, just because they stopped playing the same songs over and over on the english stations doesn't mean that is dead.

reggaeton is doing better then ever throughout the states and latin america, DY'S new album is on the top latin billboard charts , and when :mamacita" feat pharell hits ..its gonna even get stronger..

On the toronto level, it will always seem kinda "just there" but in Montreal its definetly doing big things
