I'm also hooked.....it's funny.....and it is a popularity contest....where the audience falls in love with someone's CHARM rather than their singing ability......and that is totally OK.....becuase an entertainer would sell records much faster than a "good singer"......this is not vocal school you know....LOL For example: The DRYEST contestant ever was last year's winner....that carrie underwood girl......sooo dry.....but had a nice country voice....and where is she now?ACTUALLY LADYBUG SHES THE FIRST COUNTRY SINGER TO OPEN WITH AN ALBUM AND MAKE IT #1 IN THE COUNTRY CHARTS AND SELL OVER A MILLION COPIES UP TO DATE! I KNOW CUZ I LOVE COUNTRY AND I WATCH REBA AND ALL THE UPDATES!!
Fantasia has passion and sincere feelings when singing.....Ruben just had a nice powerful voice and humility.....he did not stand out as an entertainer..YEAH FOR RUBEN ITS ACTUALLY CLAY AIKEN WHO HAS MADE THE CHARTS AND ALL WITH HIS SINGING! HES MADE TWO CDS AND SOLD WELL... Kelly Clarkson....has made it this far becuase she adapts easily to a genre and she lost weight.....that's all....she is not special either! So what time is it on tonight?

I only started watching it last season. I totally got into it but I don't know if I'll be able to get into it this season... we'll see. I like the auditions too, they're funny. But I find too many people know they're bad and they just want some t.v. airtime. Camera whores are not funny. It's only funny when the person is oblivious to how much they really suck.

i think there are a lot of talented people who get elminated way to early because some nasal rendition of i will survive sets the whole southern portion of the US voting for someone who can make my ears bleed, but again ur right it wouldn't be of reality tv caliber or as entertaining if once in a while the people we want to win get kicked off
