If you follow the instructions, even you could do it. I guess you should get the ones with the highest bit transfer rate. they are reffered to as 802.11g, there are 802.11b which are slower.

If anything go withthe linksys g-wireless router, yes its a simply plug and play, just be sure that after you have establish your connection to your wireless computer to lock the roouter down so noone can still your inter-net, you can place an incription key that can be 64 or 128, upto you.
Other then that yes it very easy to set up, if you live in a house and if this is for a laptop you may also want to get a wireless booster so you can run freely around the house and backyard
