No I won't do it ! What happened to the circle of life ?


Altough, I will, if I have the money, crio... a part of the umbilical cord of my baby(ies) ! Just in case the have a terrible disease and no match to help. I know, it might not make sense with what I wrote earlier but I can't imagine myself watching my baby(ies) dying without a try ! Don't get me wrong, I am not either for "life at all cost", meaning if there is no qlty of life behind it, well, who knows, omg, this is so hard to know what is the best thing to do in those cases.


So to stick you "TO FREEZE OR NOT TO FREEZE??", no I am not interested !

"Being able to manipulate matter at the cellular level will enable us to repair a lot of the damage that occurs to an individual during the cryopreservation process today," Waynick said, "especially those patients that were cryopreserved in the earlier years, where there was a significant amount of ice damage during the freezing process." In the future, breakthroughs in stem cell research and cellular regeneration may enable scientists to regenerate a new body from a person's existing DNA and attach it to the person's cryopreserved brain, Waynick speculates. "A cure also has to be found for whatever caused your death in the first place," he said. "If you die of lung cancer or kidney failure, those diseases would need to be conquered, or it wouldn't do much good to revive you." But Rabin, the Carnegie Mellon professor, said there is another problem with restoring a brain to its original state. "Even if, by some miracle, all brain cells can be revived, the idea that memories and personality could also be revived is completely not clear," he said. He uses an analogy from the computer world to describe how the loss of communication between the brain cells affects the memory of the brain. "Information is lost when the power of a computer is turned off, even if it's only an instantaneous event and even if no harm is done to the memory chips," Rabin said. "On the other hand we know that harm is done to the memory cells in cryopreservation of biological materials, and we know that the lines of communication between memory cells are devastated and lost," he said.

I believe Einstein's brain is cryogenized.




On April 18, 1955, the great mathematician and physicist Albert Einstein died. He was 76 years old. Although Einstein's body was cremated, his brain was saved. Dr. Thomas S. Harvey, a pathologist at Princeton Hospital, removed Einstein’s brain on the morning of Einstein's death. What happened to the brain for years after this is somewhat of a mystery.

When you are dead you are done, living once is a hell of a ride, that thing sounds more like Frankenstein, you know, put me in the freezer for 20 years and after defrost me for 20 mins.....Living once in this place is enough, so enjoy it !

Q: Was Walt Disney cryogenically preserved after death?
A: Quite the opposite, Walt's daughter Diane recalls that her father spoke frequently about his desire to be cremated which, in fact, he was.

No researcher has discovered where this myth began, but it certainly is widespread. When Disney archivist Robert Tieman researched the issue, he discovered that the first attempts at freezing a person weren't even discussed until after Walt's death.

In any case, the people who knew Walt and loved him never heard him utter a word about trying it out himself. What's more, his family lingered around him for some time after his death. No white-smocked physicians rushed his body off to some kind of freezing chamber, as would undoubtedly have been the case if he were being preserved.

Walt's remains are currently interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.

I heard of this guy that has it all set up so that when he's ready to go they'll only freeze his head!...
....until medicine is advanced enough to be able to do something with just that. (head transplant I suppose)
He also mentioned it's cheaper (figures)

As for the cryogeni-thingy-ma-jiggy, I would have to say no.  The cycle is you're born, you live u're life and then you die - that's it. 


Has this been actually done yet tho?  Is this at all possible?  have they actually frozen a person and brought that person back to life?  I wouldn't want to be the pilot project on this one...
