Suppose for a moment that 'time" and our relationship to it was was inverted. Instead of having "History", as in recalling the past, we had none but only a onward form of "Futury" that collectively and individually anticipates all things ahead of present time. Suppose that the future is always foreseeable, but that the very moment it becomes "the past" it become collectively and individually forgotten. How would that impact society and the individual ? What sort of society would it be, that can see the future, prepare for it in advance, but not be able to recall the past, in the same way we cannot make truly "see" the future. I wonder what that society would be like to live in ? I wonder what sort of person would inhabit such a society. What implications arise from this scenario ? Nutjob, eh? I read your thread but I forgot it immediately (playing along, see?). And I know my computer will crash in ten... nine... eight...

Let's scratch that hypothetical situation out and let me ask this: Would you be willing to go back in time and change a particular event in your life?
If I'd changed something from my past I wouldn't be what I am and where I am right now... so my answer should me no..... events happens for a reason...maybe to learn from them....
ditto.

The original question me dejo asi but overall I would say I wouldn't want that kind of society ... I mean to know the future is SCARY enough in the event like Lahtina said you are aware that death is coming around ... and not able to recall this event as the past even worse ... imagine for example your preggos and each and every day you wonder why your tummy is getting bigger because you don't remember that you were pregnant ... ummm I'm confusing myself and itz too early in the morning LMAO!!! But all in all I SAY NOOO!
** @RR: About being millionaire's well it wouldn't happen right? I mean let's say you know the winning numbers as you forecast the future ... you play them, and you WIN!!! but you can't collect the money until the next day ... your sooooo happy you party like itz 1999 and anticipating all the millions you have won ... yet you notice that your life in the futury hasn't changed but hey you don't care your a MILLIONAIRE ... you go to bed, wake up ... and POOF you don't recall the past osea you don't remember you won, nor do others remember you won you just have this MAJOR HANGOVER!!!!

If I had the chance, I will.
I don't think by doing it, it would have been affecting my future, but it would have ment the world to me !

Ok, basically this idea is getting too weird for me. Let's scratch that hypothetical situation out and let me ask this:

Would that make society be happier? Fear is a product of the unknown so, for example, if someone were to know that they would be stabbed to death on June 21st 2008. Would they resign themselves to that fate? I don't think I could live with that anxiety. I think that would be enough for the person to want to kill themselves even before the event took place. This idea completely removes notion of free will, don't you think? What would be the purpose of living a life that has already been determined before you live it?
But if you have no memory of the past, this feeling will fade away in no time !

perhaps you can't predict your own death....

Foreseeing the future and not remembering the past, what a chaotic age and thrilling as well ! It will be a new adventure every second.
NO hate or discrimination (I had to say it, lol), pure fun and love ?
But at the same time, no boubdries, no chismes (LOL), it is kind of sad.
This society will definitively be interesting. I whish I could be one of the few pple (saying that there are some) that have memory from the past, and that I will be recording the behaviour of the one that don't.
